Sorry, the glitch ate my words again and I am too tire to type all that again.  I may edit them back in tomorrow.  Or not.

I do have a clue as to when that happens.  It seems to have to do with uploading a photo and then deleting it.  The deletion takes the words with it when I click the submit button, leaving only the image(s).

You’re going to need to be careful entering driveways and loading that baby on flatbeds… ??

Today I ordered new motor mounts from Blunt,  Hopefully, that's something I can do myself without too much trouble.

Also waxed the front part of the car while cooling off w/ some Heinekens in a hot garage . Noticed that the right front "bumper" fasteners had fallen off somehow. I'll visit the hardware store tomorrow morning for some new fasteners.

TIL how old charge indicator lights actually work… and fixed my issue where sometimes the car would not shut off for a few seconds. Added a diode to the exciter wire to prevent it from feeding back and latching my ecm relay on.

Nice side effect, now the L light doesn’t flash on when the key is turned off until engine comes to a stop (since there is no back feeding)

‘73 Chamonix

I haven’t touched the car much in the past few months. It does run, the header is adjusted for clearance and fitted. The exhaust is connected. The driveshaft has been shortened and rebuilt. The hood has been bolted on. Tons and tons still to do, but it moved under its own power on Thursday night. Mere inches in either direction, but it’s proof that it does move. 5F0232A1-D703-4C89-9139-8B5CAA5467E5.jpeg

Realized I'm thinking of a different part of the harness, but thanks for something to think about.

The 3 prong plug on the back of the alt. Blue wire is exciter wire and I  needed a diode there.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
