Yes, I 3d printed a couple and installed them. But there still seems to be a lot of side to side movement from the upper half of the rubber mount.

When I installed my Blunt Tech five-speed swap kit I didn't do such a great job on the transmission bracket. And over the ensuing two years, it worked itself loose enough to allow an alarming amount of movement up and down on the tailend of the gearbox. It was enough slop that my cooling fan showed damage to three of the five fan blades.

So today I remedied that.

I pulled back the carpet bits and cleaned all the dynamat from the area on both sides of the transmission tunnel. (On the initial installation, I didn't remove the dynamat, assuming that it would compress adequately under the fender washers. Well, I was wrong. Derp.)

Under the car, I replaced a cracked shift block, one of the two widgets that attaches the shift deck to the transmission body. I assume excess gearbox slop caused that damage too. The other shift block and the deck itself appeared to be intact.

Then I repositioned and torqued down the brackets for the transmission cross brace.

Car drives and shifts properly now. Will be replacing the damaged fan soon.

I spent my morning cleaning up the sins of my past.  While I was under the car last month working on the 5 speed install, I decided I could just quickly attach the IE 5 speed clutch line to the clutch master at the pedal box.  All well and good until the fitting cross threaded.  I order a tap and die set for that fitting and tried to repair it on the car, nope, both the clutch line fitting and the clutch master would not take the die or the tap properly.  Pulled the clutch slave, 2 minutes on the bench and the tap did its magic.  I ordered a 1.0mm thread file to see if I could repair the threads on the clutch line fitting without removing the 5 speed slave.  Should be here tomorrow, fingers crossed.

I did an oil/filter change this morning.  Log book shows last one was 3/10/22 and 5127 miles ago. This time I really cheaped out on the oil. I put in Super Tech 20W50 from WalLMaRt that cost around $17 for the 5 Qts. I won't go as long next time with this stuff.

my understanding is that using an oil containing zinc is highly recommended for these cars.

Could not have done it without this forum. Many of the parts needed purchased from the classified section and the search option was used countless times. Thanks to those of you who had posted on the topic in the past for your contribution. It’s good to know that your post keep on giving.

I made it! 
I took an old belt buckle and ground the back flat. Then drilled couple countersunk holes. A trip to the hardware store for some bar stock and some nylock nuts and screws later and voila! 
Did it a bit tongue in cheek, given the seriousness of many badges lol. 
Don’t get me wrong though.  I have a BMW CCA 100jarhe badge on my e39 M5 hahaha. Pretty much making fun of myself and going back to my roots with this.   🤣

I've heard that too. I added a few oz of STP oil treatment that contains zinc for peace of mind.

Exploratory surgery continues.

Home-made engine lift, oil pan removed, oil pump removed (very loose chain), getting ready to pull pistons and examine bearings. Couldn't believe the grungy lower end. First time the pan has been pulled...thought 3K mile oil changes would keep the innards clean... not so!

Today I ran out of gas...so the fuel gauge was working lol. BUT, filled it up with 11.5 gallons and gauge only shows 1/4 tank so still an issue in there somewhere. All the other gauges read fine (speedo, tach, temp, etc).

I'm thinking what did I do...I replaced passenger side side marker light so might have bumped the ground at tail light. I'll check that and the fuel sender wiring first.
