Another visit. Final primer is done, just needs one last block and then color goes down. Eventually.

At some point I’ll die and my bones will turn to dust and blow away and be reabsorbed by the lakes and trees and the lakes will dry up and the trees will die and erosion will knock down the Rocky Mountains and an inland sea will envelop what was once called Colorado and unknowable species will roam rampant through humanless vistas and the Earth’s orbit will destabilize and it will spiral closer and closer to the sun and eventually enter the corona and be incinerated and the sun will bloat and grow red and slowly dim before collapsing completely inward upon itself and send our tiny solar system, at long last, into permanent merciful darkness.

BUT, before that happens, I’m hoping…just maybe…to get my goddamn car back from paint.

just in time for winter or something no doubt🙄

love your wheels btw!

Totally. I remain hopeful it’ll be sooner…because I’m an idiot.

Thanks for the wheel compliment!  Maxilites in 15x6. They fit perfectly in the fenders and don’t rub even though I ride it low. And they fit easily over the Wilwood BBK front and rear.  I like the Maxilites over the other Alpina tributes because they have a correct offset while still maintaining a lip. Best of both worlds.

Bad luck today.  We left for a planned 60 mile drive.  About 16 miles in I thought the car was a little sluggish.  18 miles in it would die at stop signs.  I could get it started, fuss with the gas, get to the next stop only for it to die again.  When I pulled over, the coil was very hot, and the condenser was even hotter.  Plenty of fuel, does not seem like a fuel delivery issue.  I assume ignition.  Kind of sudden as it has been running well, no troubles as we've been driving it every few days.  Will be testing the dizzy, condenser and coil on my friends really cool sun machine this week.  A 123 and coil will be here Tuesday as a backup plan.  Must get this in order before the trip to Michigan!

Where/how did you source your new steering box?

And let me know when you are throwing those 40 DCOEs into your neighbors pool so that I can fish them out. 😁

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
