  2. Update: No updates. Here are some pictures though. I have decided to send the car back to SOC to finish it. No time to tinker, but I sure can write a mean check.
  3. Ironically, I have a spare headrest that matches yours, except mine is black.
  4. Would you say that the shade of orange on the left turn signal is different from the shade of orange on the right turn signal?
  5. I second what @Mark92131 says. Take it to a shop that knows 2002s, like Morris Motors in Walnut Creek. Sell the diff and 5 speed, get the car running and driving, then sell. You'll have a better outcome this way. And during the next month it takes you to both sell the parts and fix the car, many more buyers will come online (tax reimbursement season is upon us, and people want spring projects). Or if you want to just get rid of everything, I'd probably be a buyer. I'm always in Sac, harrassing our local FAQers. Good luck, either way.
  6. I have had good success with 3M Super 90 spray adhesive. I usually find it at Home Depot.
  7. I have had these for near 10 years now. I planned on throwing them in my Son Of Cobra car, but I've decided to delete the rear seat and go with a roll bar, so no more need to hoard these. They've been in my garage for ever and need a good cleaning. I remember going over them and thinking they may be the cleanest set of early black pleated vinyl seats in existence. They aren't perfect, but all of the problem areas are hidden and cannot be seen when installed. Again, they need a deep clean but they will clean up nicely. They can either be picked up near Sacramento, or the San Jose Area. Even East Bay on the right day of the week. Price is $650 for the set. I prefer that I sell them locally. Thanks for looking, Ryan
  8. If someone considers making this SSK upgrade with a chrome NK shaft, I'm a buyer. I've been looking to do the same.
  9. I'm here for the annual beer that Steve brews. Cars come in at a close second.
  10. Stuart was a good soul and a genuine car guy. He loved his 2002 and was not afraid to collaborate with any of us when he needed a bit of guidance. He always worked quickly with anything I suggested and I appreciated that. I hope his family and friends find peace at this time.
  11. I've got a set of Scheel 500s that someone can run as-is, or redo over the winter as a fun project. OP did a great job and I can see the future for these seats:
  12. Meet ya there this week. I'll move this convo to messages.
  13. When are we getting a beer old man? I'm in Land Park
  14. This thread is making me hungry for Chinese food (I'm taking rod notes tho; I have a motor to build for my SOC car)
  15. Go Ford Escork Mk2 Rack. Same amount of work and quicker ratio than E21
  16. I am enjoying building my modified 2002 right now. Every mod planned and executed so far, I consider tasteful and an improvement over the stock system. I've driven enough 2002s to know that lighter = more fun than simply adding power, so I'm balancing the pursuit of both, while respecting the limitations of the chassis, with this current build. What I will end up with is a truly fun driver, that is hard to replicate, and therefore I will keep for a long time. Stock cars are fun for a while, but they are never my first choice if I have a modified, fast car I can pick to drive. Right now, I have a totally stock motor e30 m3 which is getting boring...I may have to add a 2.7L S14 to the build sheet on that car soon.
  17. Do you have a price in mind for your parts lot? Inquiring minds would like to know your expectations as a seller and their hopes as a buyer.
  18. The four Ps: Paint, Polish, Powdercoat, Plate Steam cleaning does wonders, then I would go a step further and dry ice blast. Once you realize that nothing makes your rusty parts not rusty, you go for plating and powdercoating. Then your $300 budget turns into an $1800 project. Is it worth it? Yeah.
