The Passing of Paul Winterton

Very sad news. 

Paul was the "gold standard" for how to enjoy our cars. Meticulous to a fault, eager to share his knowledge, and a great sense of humor.

How he was able to keep his special Tii so clean, and still manage to drive it 3k miles (on the 3 days/year it didn't rain in Vancouver) will always be a mystery.

Paul will be missed.

Paul and Mike Joy were a couple of the first FAQ enthusiasts I met in person after buying my first 02. We met at a local BMW car show and I remember Paul being so inviting and gracious with sharing his knowledge. He made me feel instantly welcomed to the PNW group. I always enjoyed catching up him when he and Mike were able to make the trip down to Seattle. 

 

So sad that he's passed. My condolences to Paul's family, and to his good friend @joysterm.

What a great loss.  Paul was a true enthusiast and we had many great conversations over the years.  It was always a joy to meet up with him on either side of the border.  He will be greatly missed.  

 

Go have a good drive in your 2002 and think of Paul.

Even though I only interacted with him a few times, Paul seemed like a really great guy.  He was quick to provide valuable advice ...and did some with a great attitude and sense of humor!

Wow what a shame!  Wealth of knowledge and I was really looking forward to sending him some injectors.  Very sorry to hear this.
