Stick a socket into the dowel, then use pliers to twist it out.

jgerock's post in Getrag 245 - speedo drive disassembly was marked as the answer
As I recall, the speedometer drive gear pieces have a very tight interference fit. Think I used two pair of pliers to twist them apart. Before dismantling anything, please make sure all the pieces are still available. The main o ring seal is the easiest to replace, the bush and inner seal the hardest. If you speedometer gear literally falls out of the transmission, then your old parts are worn and need replacing.

Tab retainer for one of the (2) advance springs may be broken. Contact someone like Advance Distributors in MN for a rebuild plus recurve for your specific application (and today’s fuel).

jgerock's post in Dimensions for Ti / Tii brackets was marked as the answer
Think I’ve posted details on these before. Edited to include details. Due to the edges, I’m betting you’d be better off buying a set harvested from an old tii. Contact someone like @shermanmartinez.

jgerock's post in Oil pump refresh was marked as the answer
Use assembly lube on the valve train and a break in type oil for your rebuild. When my engine was upside down (pan off), I poured some oil into the pump pickup. Remove the spark plugs and crank the engine over until the oil pressure light goes out. These engines are tough.

jgerock's post in What stud is this? was marked as the answer
Correct. When the tii engine was used in the e12 520i, that stud was used for the upper alternator mounting point so that a power steering pump could be used on the lower side of the engine. This was confirmed to me by an email response from Walloth Nesch back around 2009. Picture shows Alpina equipped e12, but also shows the alternator mounted up high.

Push the end of the turn signal/wiper stalk toward the steering column to turn on or off the wipers. The dash knob only controls the wiper SPEED.

Hood is upside down in this picture. Rubber piece #18 is in the center. The other plastic piece could be #17 in graphic.

jgerock's post in Sunroof question was marked as the answer
The black vinyl trim goes around the sides and rear of the opening to help keep the headliner from tearing. The headliner is then glued in place. Add the aluminum sunroof channels next.

I use a brass brush for cleaning carburetor parts - and a magnifying glass.

jgerock's post in Head Alignment Dowels (Pins) install was marked as the answer
I learned this tip from another BMW friend while wrenching on an M20...
Insert something like an allen wrench or socket then use a set of Vise Grips to twist the dowel pin out.

jgerock's post in 75 2002 wiper pivot installation was marked as the answer
Rubber grommet fits into the cowl opening for the wiper pivot.
A steel ring fits inside that rubber grommet to keep it from being crushed.
A washer is on both sides of the grommet- some are curved. Some are chrome, some are black.
Serrated lock washers are on either side of the fixed wiper rods.
Look at the exploded parts graphic on penkeparts website.

I did a quick write up on wiper refurbishment in the Articles under Construction section of the archives. No linky to paste yet.
Sounds like you need to replace one of the pivots. Both used and new are available.

jgerock's post in Tii Hesitation/Possible Fuel Issue was marked as the answer
Sorry - thought you had an in-tank pump since you referenced an "E30 tank". If you still have the stock tii pickup, then you need to pull and inspect the nylon mesh strainer in the bottom (if it still is in place).

Same as the shorty rear bumper - only farther forward.

jgerock's post in Tii Fuel Pressure Maintenance Valve was marked as the answer
I cannot post pics from work.
Inside that valve is a small coil spring and poppet type piston. Now that you have removed the circlip (DO NOT LOOSE IT!), try pushing the piston out from the opposite end (the hose end) with a metal pick or possibly a toothpick.

jgerock's post in Heater Fan Wiring was marked as the answer
Since you did not provide which year your 2002 is, here are some pics from my 73. You don't have to disconnect the wires at the dash sliders when removing the box from the car. Both the heater box (resistor board connections) and the dash slider are labeled.
Here is an early box with 2-speed blower
Box that I removed from my 69

jgerock's post in Parts Id Help was marked as the answer
I believe the first piece is a protector that bolts to the rear of the outer seat rail so back seat passengers won't damage their shoes (or toes).
2nd piece looks like the accelerator pedal securing clip.

jgerock's post in Photobucket And Browser Issues? was marked as the answer
Update after visiting the Cox store in Fairfax this morning... I purchased a new modem and now all seems to be well. Videos play uninterrupted and I can now view my Pbucket pics. The lady at the Cox store said we should have updated our modem at the same time as the router.. The old modem was from July 2006.
In my case, it was a hardware problem (not ignition-related).
Carry on.
