... What yellow color should I use for stick?...

There’s a thread on dipstick color... seriously!

You can also look at the historical photos and compare the routing of wires and hoses, conforming yours to the cars back in the day. Don’t expect 100% conformity, even among period sources. ?

So much fun!

Best regards,

Steve

Thanks Steve - I’ve been grounded / no flights, with my work after flying almost 200,000 miles last year.  I’m going to have a lot of time on my hands the next few weeks’

I vaguely remember that one.  Rust-Oleum Safety Yellow spray paint worked for me.

Which engine is in the car?

Best regards,

Steve

I still have the spare in the car, it only has 18,000 miles on it.  The original is on an engine stand in the garage.  I’m retiring soon and rebuilding it will make for a great project!  There were 6 plastic runners in spare parts boxes that came with the car, I’m hoping I can get 4 that done leak!

Still managing to do a terrific job of avoiding extending the trailing edges of the fenders. I figured I’d better get the hood on, fit/cleco the rear flares, and tinker with the Airdam fitment some more.

It became obvious that the flares needed to come forward. The Airdam was coming up short about 3/8”. Turns out I’d “pinched” the flares when I set them (using the existing wheel arch to guide fitment). Once I let the front of the flares loose they landed right in line with the trailing edge of the airdam. I’m dressing cutting the bottoms off of the flares, but I suppose it’s the next thing to do.

Finally booted the gremlins I was having with random sync loss (rpm signal loss) and breaking up at high RPMs... I had to switch to resistor spark plugs!! The non-resistor ones were generating too much EMI.

That fixed 99% of my issues.

I also took apart my wiring harness and wrapped it in conductive shielding tape, which I grounded on the firewall where the wires enter the car.

That fixed the last of them that I have noticed so far.

Awesome!

Yesterday I picked up my car from the body shop.  They replaced the rear quarter panel and deleted the rear side markers.

Today I found the reason the rear brakes on my '70 work...occasionally...sometimes...maybe:  the two rear flexible brake hoses were severely constipated with rock-hard Milk Duds.  Hours required for their removal - the hoses, not the Milk Duds. Likely not original from the factory; however, that's how they look. Easy fix:  new hoses.  Hard lines OK (will replace, also).

To explore the problem of a brake line not flowing and not being able to be flushed, a past FAQ poster suggested the quite logical starting at the farthest point from the reservoir, and examine each brake component in sequence until you get flow.  In my case:  bleed nipple > cylinder > hardline > flexline...Urethra!  Found it!   THANK YOU, past FAQ poster.

Yesterday I drove my favorite car on a most important mission...God bless the good folks at Costco.  Uncrowded roads were a treat, too, especially through downtown Seattle where a 3-series and 5-series decided to give chase and play.  Time now to hunker down, although I know which car the grocery-getter will be for a while.  Stay safe out there/in there.
