Engine rebuild and Engine compartment complete.  Rick and crew at North Bay Bavarian working on the fine tuning..  Really pleased with their wiring work.  Car looks really streamline considering how much wiring goes into an EFI conversion

The car seems to start better and runs great with the correct resistor. Had .9 correct is 1.8

Got Otto out and fully exercised today -- didn't have many just-for-fun drives this season and of those none over 20 miles. Today was a heck of a great one to finally get out and do a couple hundred miles of scenery and twistys here in Minnesota. I took a route from Minneapolis down into Western WI where it's hilly and fun, and back up along the Mighty Mississippi, which this morning was throwing off fog at Lake Pepin with the cool air coming down into the river valley -- it was like I was back in the Bay Area again. Man, these cars are so much fun to get out and drive on the fun roads.

Huge thanks to SteveA for setting me up with a great weekend of car culture.

Got home tonight and tallied 3516 miles on the CS this week. Time for an oil change.

That’s about as “classic” as they come — ca. 1972 — a Malaga car with BWA Sportstars! Great look!

Congrats!

I'd love a picture of your CSB where it attaches to the floor of the car. If you have the opportunity.

Cheers.

Got under the car today and snapped some photos. Giubo looks much better than before. My 5 speed conversion was done incorrectly so there are shims everywhere now.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
