Starting putting my new matching covers on my back seat frame. Fingers are so sore!! Stretching and poking through the little spikes….respect for those that do this for a living!!

Today I plan to begin two projects at once ... cooling system inspection/maintenance/flush/fill and exhaust system maintenance including the exhaust manifold studs / oil leak issue.  Wish me luck!!

Had a GREAT time at The Vintage this weekend, made new friends most notably the legend himself Barney and his fabulous wife Tori. Even got to park next to Barney's Inca tii. Will definitely be back next year!

I actually started what I planned to do today - got the exhaust system out from the header back, so far.  That muffler was REALLY stubborn to get off.  Then I was greatly annoyed by discovering and dealing with 3 completely different nuts and bots at the header to resonator pipe joint 🙄and also discovered that the gasket ring is missing (thanks, previous "mechanic" whoever it was).  I already new the center exhaust bracket (at the trans) was missing, but didn't realize that the exhaust pipe was supported by the rear subframe LOL.  This is why its good to go through things like this.   Making a list of the new parts I'll need - hangers, nuts, bolts, gasket... To be continued ...

As I become more prolific at working on my car and endeavor more projects, it fascinates me when I discover work done previously by '02 professionals is at times shoddy or just plain wrong.

Stevenola and I did some fuel system tuning yesterday, and to test our handiwork went tearing around Longboat Key and Ana Maria Island this morning before returning to Sarasota through Bradenton on US 310.  Always scenic (notwithstanding piles of tree trash on the roadsides), the post-Ian weather still very pleasant.  We got very lucky with Ian.  A friend’s M6 in south Sarasota got crushed by a tree but both our cars, and all our family, weathered the storm without incident.
