NLA Part Production. Poll Request.

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping that enough people want this NLA part so I can have some made.
BMW calls it a "hose line" and it's a zinc-plated part (#64531353270)  that lives on the dipstick clamp.  I call it a "cable loop".  I'm missing this part on an engine and need to get a bunch made to get a couple for myself.  The  rubber pass-through grommet (#21522072270) is still current and available through your favorite BMW parts vendor.

I want to know if members would purchase these and bend it themselves.  The shipping cost is fractional if they are mailed in a letter envelope.  If I were to bend them they would have to be shipped in a package at much higher rates.

2-3 plated parts 8.75 US ea.  Postage included.

Higher quantity purchase prices and shipping rate upon request.
I will only create approximately 60 pieces so this will be a limited time offer.

Please PM me with your email address and quantity if interested. I will let you know if we have enough interest for an order and then I will request your address and payment.
Thanks,
Paul

Presume this is a tii-unique part; having owned only carbureted cars, that part doesn't look familiar.

I have a tii and don't think I have one- so I probably need one.  What are they for?

Side note Paul; I'm printing those parts a couple of different ways for you.  Should be wrapped up today.

Dave.

'76, totally stock. Completely.

Too funny, I didn’t recognize that part and have no idea what it does. So I looked at my car and found what’s left of that part. I’ll take one too Paul. What does it hold? Thanks Alex

We’ll figure that out later....   ?

First off, thanks for the support.

Second, I thought all 02s had them.

Third, It's for the starter positive cable harness.  :)  Hence the fat rubber grommet.

I just went and looked at my Tii engine that is out of the car. It is in fact for the Positive battery cable leading from the starter to the battery. Mine is in place and doing it's job!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
