  1. It doesn't take alot to be off the mark when you bolt down the pressure plate. Using an alignment tool is a no brainer. I usually put some light oil on the splines and nose of the output shaft. Pull the engine re-check the friction disk alignment and try again.
  2. Think you are making more of this than needs to be. Machine shop will resurface the flywheel with a given step that is all. Let them do their job. Purchase new matching clutch friction disk and PP. Done! You do not resurface the PP. The friction disk is a throw away consumable.
  3. If the gap is apprx 1/4" and even between the block and bellhousing, the output splines are lined up you are just not pressing through the pilot bearing. Get some long bolts to pass through for guide pins and slowly take it in.
  4. Could be a Pillsbury pie plate, who gives a fuck. But I guess everybody who replied above me does. Buy it cheap, drive it hard.

  12. The e21 1.8 motor has the cam gear that runs a different direction. The problem would be the electronic pick up int your current distributor.
  13. An M10 originally from a 114 chassis will have the cam gear and distributor gear possibly running a different direction from your e21 platform M10 depending on build date. If this is something you are aware of and know in advance, I have a running engine in a car that will be coming out in Md. If you are interested, pm me.
