Enjoy the Beauty Shot thread and hate to see it get buried so I thought I'd post a few pictures of my 76.

Now that R51/2 is something ... they're rare as hens' teeth, and quite difficult to work on, as they're different to any other post-war engine BMW ever made, with the twin camshafts. Very cool! The car's not bad either :)

Carl

I know you are dedicated to those wheels but they dive me crazy. on such a nice original car.

How about putting them in storage and at least get a set of e30 basket weaves and a good set of 14 tires ?  You will love the difference in the driving feel.  Then save your originals for special occasions.

Only 5k of the 1950 R51/2 were made.  My dad had this one completely restored when he lived in Turkey 20 years ago before shipping it back here to Texas.  She only has 13 Kilometers on it since the restoration as it's not been on the road.  I've just recently acquired it from my dad a year ago.

I LOVE those wheels 'Original'! From day 1 the stock wheel/trim ring combo has been one of my favorites. Plus alot of club guys plan to die with 13's...13's forever baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pfffttt .....Basket weaves....everyone has those and they're annoyingly impossible to clean...lol

I haven't posted any pics of my tii with new shoes. I was running 15X7 Rota RB's for years but I wasn't feeling the love for the Rota's anymore. I pulled a set of 15X7 ET25 Centra type 11 wheels out of my parts stash and sent them to my local wheel shop for refurbishment.  If you aren't familiar with Centra, Centra is a German wheel manufacturer that Ronal bought out in the early-mid 90's. These wheels are so old school, they say made in West Germany on them (1988 casting date).  I had the center part of the Centra wheels painted semi-gloss black (did this for the Rota's as well) and mounted 195/50-15 Yoko S drive tires on them.  These are very rare wheels, perfect offset to run on my tii or E30.   First pic is with before with the  Rota's and then other pics are after with the Centra wheels. The Centra wheels have a huge lip on them.
