Since you have a 73 tii, do only one upgrade to the motor. Rebuild it with higher compression pistons (9.5:1) to bring it up to Euro tii specs. Leave the rest of the motor alone.

I hope you eventually repaint it back to the original color, Sahara. It doesn't get much love but it's such a classic period correct color. I even repainted my Sahara tii, Sahara. Love the optional factory alloy wheels.

Lars, thank you, that answers my question. As I thought, I have a 71-73 Euro spec instrument cluster from a 2002 in my parts bin.
