  1. The only difference is the pushrod length. Both those pictures you posted appeared to be of LHD master cylinders, and I'm tipping one is for a different model BMW, or maybe turbo 2002's idk. I bought a 400mm braided stainless softline from Blunttech to run from the clutch master cyl. to the hardline on the trans. Or you could get a straight length of hardline made up with the right nuts on it for about AUD$10 by any serious brake and clutch workshop, and bend it up to suit your car at home.
  2. even at 110Km/h on the highway for a few hours, my windows stay open just fine!
  3. 76Mintgrün, you are seriously the king of tinkering. While we're on the subject, I'm using C.D's prescription (pretty much at sea level in coastal Australia, with 98 octane) and all is well, except for very light throttle (cruising, maintaining speed) where the engine stutters just slightly. I suspect it might be spark related, but I was wondering what carb jet would most effect very light throttle, and which way to go to solve the issue.
  4. I used a small bolt and nyloc nut, which was actually easier than reinstalling the clip.

  8. $$$ and good pics, that's what i'm here for. Sick work as always.
  9. how about youtube or vimio vids and externally hosted pics Steve?
  10. rear strut tower reinforcement is the main thing, have a search. rear strut brace might help a bit.
  11. Bin the side markers, because US cars were just plain unfortunate to get them in the first place. Bumpers are just fine the way they are.

  13. I'm not sure on American building materials but over here we use plasterboard for walls and fiberglass mesh tape for joining corners. Because the mesh tape is slightly adhesive it gives you a good surface to fill with glue. Loctite have a range of glues in the 401-407 range that are acetone catalyst type glues and will dry hard, and can be sanded and painted. Otherwise I'd guess it's an ABS type plastic that could easily be plastic-welded. Failing that, cable-tie stitching works brilliantly.
  14. the flywheel will only go on one way because of the dowel on the crankshaft.
  15. it's probably snagged on the spiggot bearing. it took me a lot of jiggling to get it mated up properly, putting the bolts in a few of the bellhousing bolts was what helped me. GL!
  16. How about we make it a rule to not make a post in this thread without a flattering photo of your car? There are squillions of other threads to discuss specifics, lets keep this one a nice place to look at these silly cars we all love so much, and nothing more. Burnley Tunnel by Jace Bird, on Flickr
  17. I'm fairly sure my setup was installed at the dealership when new, or close to it. It's certainly not high-end, but it has lasted very well. The speakers are original and actually sound very good considering their age, no trouble hearing at highway speeds and have surprising bass output. There's a second pair of the same speakers under the dashboard, in the trim panels. Also I have a Hirschmann jewel-tip antenna. I wouldn't trade this setup for anything.
  18. are you thinking you'd need to bolt that plate to the back of the trans? it looks to me like it would already interfere with the output yoke or at least the guibo bolt-heads. also without knowing the material strength, just by looking at the scale, i'd estimate a small amount of downward force would have enough torque to bend it downwards.
  19. somebody get Coop an asthma puffer quick!
