  1. i thought a lot of people grind the two holes on the manifold into one peanut shape hole for a 32/36 anyway
  2. i'll be using a 245.0.054.0.00 but while i haven't found conclusive gear ratios for it specifically, all the manuals i have all give a 1:1 5th gear.
  3. third party boss kits have both 6x70mm and 6x74mm PCD's and cane be positioned to work for each.
  4. i have one of these, it's the best quality aftermarket boss kit i've seen http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Volanti-Luisi-Steering-Wheel-Hub-Adapter-for-BMW-/251458171215?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a8c13314f&_uhb=1
  5. quality post Mike. i can't find a stamping on the 2002 diff because it's covered in rubberized underbody paint, but being so slow off the line and going off what the generic manuals say then you'd be right. We didn't get 320iS's so finding an E21 LSD locally is not likely to happen. i'm from Geelong, are you not in the Facebook group?
  6. Australia got a mixed bag of foreign spec'd cars but i believe the E21 diff is a 3.90 (11 & 43 stamped on the side, with a 10 as well?) I'll check what my 2002 is.
  7. I bought the drivetrain from an '82 318i, diff and driveshafts included, and wonder if its really worth doing when i swap in the 5speed. I'll probably want an LSD down the track but not for a while. will a custom 5-speed tailshaft work with both diffs or are the forward lengths or input flanges different between a 12/'75 2002 and a E21 318i?
  8. i always forget about the buttons on the side of the later seats. feel a little dumber every time.
  9. it's only an issue with *some* magnesium-alloy race wheels and other forged items.
  10. Of course they are new car focused. Same with all marque car clubs. Mostly because those kinds of "enthusiasts" don't want the 'troubles' of owning an old car or whatever. There's a heap of Australian 02 owners, we even have a Facebook page if you are that way inclined. There will be someone in the sydney area who can help you out. BMW 2002 Owners Club, Australia
  11. simple answer, anything with a stupid high resale price dont even know where i'd start for the complicated and detailed answer. so many cars to own, so little time!
  12. I used the POR-15 kit. Besides it being a bit of a workout on your back muscles; constantly turning, rolling and flipping the tank with metal-ready and with the paint itself, i found it well worth the trouble. Looks lovely inside now and should last another 50 years or so!
  13. i have this Eurovox cassette player (one of those hooley dooley ones that you can play both A and B side without flipping the tape!) no radio station presets but there's only one station worth listening to here anyway. two Pioneer speakers under the dash out of sight, and the two in the parcel shelf that almost look period correct.
  14. do these things actually serve a purpose?
  15. were your wheels once 13x4.5 Mike_B? or did NK's get bigger ones than early 02's?
  16. i used a neoprene (i think) based sticky foam stripping that i got from my local rubber and foam shop (clark rubber in australia)
