My best 2002 score after watching this car setting in a field for three years one day driving by I noticed a new air stream setting next to this dilapidated farm house I pull in the drive way and was able to make a deal a purchase it for $300 it had been setting in the field for 18 years I had it for another 10 before redoing it and giving to my son Ellis....
From three there is one, after redoing my original 1975 granda red that I purchased at 19 and a1972 euro golf car that I picked up for $300 in 2004 after sitting in a field for 18 years I had a ton of parts so I picked a mostly dry shell from the west coast and this is the result...
This is my original 2002 pursued at 19 in 1976, my dad told me at the time I had no f-Ing respect for money. Over the years I have reworked/repaint three times in 40 years...I restored it in 2015 and gave to my son Kane...
I picked this car up at auction on the cheap. It is in rough shape, but I hope to restore it to it's former glory. When we got it the doors, fenders, and grill were not attached but were inside the car. Once summer comes I am looking forward to beginning the restoration in earnest.
Ongoing adventure to bring the "02" spark back into this fine little car.
Eventually, I'll organize an album of the before and after, but for now, just captured pics.
I'm the second owner of this 02, originally purchased here in Fresno,CA in 1975 from Weber BMW. I bought it in 2010 from the original owner and the car continues to reside in Fresno no more than 6 miles from where it rolled out the dealership 41 years ago.
The seats and steering wheel pictured are not for sale by me, from this car. They are available from Scat Procar and Momo. The original seats and steering wheel were sold when I replaced them with the items shown.
This was the donor car that supplied the drivetrain for the 1971 BMW 1600 Cabriolet. Bought it local in Scripps Ranch after he spun it into a guard rail front and back. I stripped this down, sold most of the parts and sold the shell to a guy that needed the pan to restore his 1600 Voll Cabriolet.
