  1. Just read the emails from Steve. Looks like the kits are out of stock everywhere in the country. Bummer, was expecting to have it today or tomorrow. Byas
  2. I should have my ST kit any day now. Byas
  3. Searching on Google with the same phrase results in results with headlight switch headlight switch removal headlight knob removal" etc This is really powerful. And one of the important attributes of this forum is the content and knowledge stored in the forums. But, we need an effective tool to unlock this value. The new search engine is not it. I don't know enough about the complexity involved, but as a user I'd very much like to see the old site search capability (courtesy of Google or equivalent) reinstated. If that's not possible,a quick explanation of why would be beneficial so that I and others like me don't continue to bother you with same request. The changes made to the forum with your hard work are taken as a whole been great. Thank you for the fantastic, time consuming job. There's somethings we need to get used to and there are something that could be improved further. Edit: My apologies -- I just read the earlier post from Steve where he stated he would be adding Google Site search back at a later stage (@ 80% coverage). Thanks, Byas
  4. I live near the seller. I contacted him and asked if I could check out the bumpers. He will have one for me to look at next week. I've not dealt with chrome bumpers on these cars so I will not be able to express seasoned judgment when I see them. But, I will take pics and if you guys can prep me with things I should look for or ask I can do that. B
  5. Yes, Selected forums. even did advanced search.
  6. What am I doing wrong? I'm having no luck with Search. I tried "how to remove headlight switch" - nothing. remove headlight switch, nothing. Any way to get Google search (the Site search one from the old Forum) back? Byas
  7. Welcome! We just had a Coffee and Cars meet up this past Saturday at Peet's on 19th & R(?). I've used Schaatz and Krumm once. They're pretty knowledgeable on these cars as well. B
  8. FPA as well. Perhaps a typo? Does anyone reproduce the the '74 sticker? I've seen '73 stickers available, but not '74. Would like a '74 one. With the typo. Byas
  9. Actually, I just remembered, I had done something that speeded up my wipers recently. I changed 2 things -- first the wiper relay and then cleaned up the ground. The wiper is grounded under the dash not in the engine bay. I think it was cleaning the ground that helped though the relay might have as well. I'd forgotten about this change and checked it only after reading this thread. Byas
  10. I've got slow wipers as well. Cleaned out every part (linkage, drive gear), new bushings, etc. It's on my list to investigate further. B
  11. Not exactly buy in parts store, but seems pretty easy to do. http://faculty.ccp.edu/faculty/dreed/campingart/jettatech/bleeder/ Byas
  12. Paid $457 incl shipping and handling per the reciept from Bav. Was bought for a '74 or '75 non-tii. Byas
  13. I have a NOS Brake Booster for a non-Tii. I'm thinking of selling it to fund other parts I need. What is a reasonable value for this? It was bought for about $4-500 from bmW a few years ago (but gifted to me). Byas
  14. I've bought parts from many reliably/securely -- Rob @ 2002Haus, Steve @ Blunttech, Maximilian, Penske Parts, Walluth U Nesch, Jaymic, etc... lots of choice.
  15. Anyone repaired a punctured diaphragm with self sealing goop (like for tires etc). Squirt a bit into the can, blow some compressed air to get the good flowing thru the puncture. Let it set. I think I have an old can in the garage, I should try it. Byas
  16. Not sure which trim you are referring to. The rocker trim is one piece metal. The knee/mid-level trim is rubber faced. The belt/upper trim is just metal.
  17. Solved. Cleaned the pivot blocks. Reinstalled them on opposite sides so that the unworn sections acted against the spring. Install back on the hood so that the arm points down. Bolt it in and tighten. Then pivot the arm towards the back of the car unfold the lower section and bolt onto the fender anchor points. 18. At the Sacramento Coffee Meet this AM I realized while check out Rob's car that the hood spring should work (mine doesn't). Back home, I've taken it apart and want to know how to reassemble so that I can retension it correctly. Thx, Byas
  19. William, I'd be willing to split duties with you if you'd like. Email me. Byas
  20. Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll head to #3. Is there a rubber bushing option for this (and should I even consider that) or is it only Poly? Byas
  21. Did not have much luck with Search.. Would like to understand what choices there are for moderate street and beginning auto-x level improvements to the sway bar -- assuming stock suspension with Bilstein HD rear shock, stock (I believe) front. 1. Polyurethane bushings on stock 15mm front and stock (?mm) rear bars -- or perhaps poly in front, new rubber at the rear. 2. 19mm front bar upgrade (like the turbo) with stock rear. Where can I get a 19mm front bar? 3. ST 22mm front/19mm rear from Blunt etc. Do these mount with the stock brackets & locations or do they need new brackets? I'm thinking of starting with #1, but would also consider #2 if I can get a 19mm one. Get a feel for what it gives before going up bigger. What else should I consider? Byas
  22. Harbor Freight has some low profile hi lift jacks in Al and Steel. Byas
  23. I switched to hot spark. After going thru points and condensers trying to get dwell right -- and even when I did, there was still some unevenness. But, with hotspark, no prob. Idles steadily at 850 even.
  24. I don't have this issue with the Chrome browser on Win 7 or on Win 8.
