  1. Alternator belt - 9.5 x 965 or 975 (I installed the shorter). Manual also specifies a 9.1 x 9XX option. I bought Bando 2380 Precision Engineered V-Belt Byas
  2. Looks like a Euro version (bumpers, turn signals, KMH speedo, switch names not on dash, H4 headlamps).
  3. Shouldn't the later ones from an E21 work? Same hole size right? B
  4. HOw about somewhere close to 50 -- perhaps at Peet's coffee on 19th where we met a week ago Sunday? Byas
  5. Finally got a good rear bumper (and for only $50) to go with the corrected brackets I got from Anton. Planning to install before drive to Brisbane. What size plugs did people use for the tiny screw-holes (that were used to mount the bumper shield for the big bumpers)? And, for the bigger bolt holes where the bumper accordions mounted to the fenders? Want to pick these up on the way back home tonight. Could not find the plug sizes with a quick search -- though I think someone did post it. Byas
  6. There is a vent hole on the cap and a bit of oil could leak out there as the oil splashes round on bouncy roads. I too had noticed it was not full to the top and topped up. A couple of weeks later I noticed oil seepage around the cap area.
  7. What time are you meeting up and where? B
  8. What color is carpet, piping, and interior? Looks grey, but colors are pretty off on my pc. B
  9. Nope. I bet you've got the wires interchanged -- that's the exact symptom. Unscrew the front blinker on the side where this happens (choose any if it happens on both sides). Interchange the wires and try. Byas
  10. I don't believe that the heat shield has any impact on noise. The original cast iron exhaust is heavy and probably has more noise absorbing qualities than the thin heat shield.
  11. +1. On the compactness point -- I wonder if Steve could create a compact theme where each topic list takes up only one line. Even the current Mobile theme is does not achieve that and so is not compact enough. Byas
  12. The belts I installed work really well (thx Al) -- the kids are in more securely now. Byas
  13. Try tightening it a smidge -- sometimes that helps break it free. Or tap it with a hammer. Byas
  14. Have you send a note to AndreasHarz? He can provide exact date. Byas
  15. Are you sure on the date? Mine is 278 2400 manufactured July 18th, and delivered to NYC on Aug 22nd. Byas
  16. Have you tried the red version? http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_auto-bulbs--194--red-victor_6281907-p
  17. 74tii with 5spd 3.90lsd, ansa header, drivers window down, 70mph, stock otherwise, no added deadening -- 80db
  18. I can't tell from the stickers on my car as to whether they were glossy or not. I hope someone else will address. JAS - the punctuation font is off quite a bit. Look at the " as an example. Can you printer choose another font for punctuation that is closer? Byas
  19. The Bosch sticker is to replace a damaged sticker on mine. But, Red coils were not factory issue. While I am partial towards being original -- I'm not going for out the showroom look -- at least on this car. But, I'd like reproductions of factory items to be as true as possible. Byas
  20. BTW, would your printer know what font was used by Bosch for their logo and for their labels (like on the coils)? I'd like to repro the red coil labels. Byas
  21. Quite similar. It must not be exactly this font -- note the difference in the letter "T" -- the length of the top line is different. The spacing between the letters of a word (kerning) needs to be widened just a bit. Also, the first 2 colons should be semi colons - and note the size differences of the colon and semi-colon. i'm in at that price. Byas
