  1. Why haven't we heard from @BarneyT? A little concerned.
  2. 700psi. Wow! Somebody has definitely been messing with those. The Kfish doesn't even create that much pressure. I would worry that the springs are overstretched and will not operate within spec. Pm sent.
  3. Sirius LEDs are twice as bright as superbrightleds at the same price. Classicautoleds arrays are comparable to modern SUVs. Very well made and changes the 02 into a highly visual vehicle.
  4. Rear: classicautoleds.com. Front: Sirius xg amber 1157 750 lumens da best.
  5. As said local shops sometimes have or can get the right front glass. Same glase as OEM except in generic name. I believe you still need OEM gasket as URU is not yet vetted to satisfaction. Save your energy, stress and potential damage. Let the pros install it.
  6. My recall conjures up a metal female part in the carpet over a male part screwed into the floor. Even my 1990 Bimmer replace carpet had the appropriate covers. Do I have to go look? ? Seems like a common British or marine application. My Cocomats stick like glue but my wifes' have the skucum plastic eyelets.
  7. Plenty of good info in this thread. I decided to keep my original and have it rebuilt.
  8. In my humble opinion, if it were me, I'd service everything from the flywheel back to the guibo, including the pilot bearing and all the shifter linkage bushings. First, I'd invest in a Sachs clutch kit. Then I'd order a shifter bushing kit from whoever sells them. Lastly I'd have my flywheel resurfaced and remove the pilot bearing from the crankshaft hub. Lastly, I'd take my transmission to a reputable and experienced 2002 suave shop. Dollars to donuts synchros are dead or dying. Sorry to be so blunt. I'd pay anything required to have a smooth shifting gearbox while driving my freshly painted car.
  9. I asked that same question in another thread. But it was about the Aplina intake and whether or not my stock injectors would work. My reconditioned injectors can open at anywhere from 470 PSI to 540 PSI. I like to sell balanced sets in the 470 to 500 range. Above that I can't be sure of the performance of the standard pump. I will say that injectors at 540 PSI (and above) have a more robust cone in density and life of the particles. Meaning the particle cones are longer in length.
  10. Geez. I presume no one lost their lives. It would be horrible. What about water redirection on the top of suspect areas. But what do I know. I'm sure all aspects are being considered.
  11. ?...and I have reconditioned injectors from neighboring Canada opening at 470-540 PSI that work well with the stock Kfish pump. Note: the Alpina race pump uses different injectors but stock injectors will fit, I believe. More knowledgeable input required.
  12. I just bought the reproductions that BMW is offering. You are correct, they are not the same. They are made in America ( not that there is anything wrong with that?) but they don't have the Bosch stamp molded on the top. Lost points at the concours. I would have paid more for NOS. Wait! What do yours come with? The repro ones have the complete guts, but no white base. That, you have to purchase separately from the dealer. My car is not concours but I'd have paid $75 just for the NOS cover. I hope some of that helps.
  13. He might need the EL-13A1. It has a ground wire that matches to the existing connector. I had to upgrade when I added LED bulbs up front to my existing arrays in the rear.
  14. Did you retro fit an LED for the green turn signal indicator? That might require an adjustment to the OEM flasher or replacement with a NAPA el13a1 electronic flasher or competitive product from another manufacturer. Note: I run LED arrays on the rear and Sirius LEDs in the front corners for max illumination. That requires the change in/to flashers. I haven't yet tested the addition of the dash light SO at the moment I only added the 4 LEDs to increase the brightness of the cluster. All other indicator bulbs may be bright enough. I'm not sure. I hope to test that soon.
  15. Key turned on for headlights/brakelights? PLUG: classicautoleds.com Rear taillight arrays that are WAY brighter than single bulbs from Superbright.
  16. Yeah, that was me. Sorry, I can't help you with your new problem. Sounds like you're on it. I must make the following statement because I think everyone should have the most visibility possible when on the road. I hope the 1157 leds that Blunt sells are 700 lumens like these babies. Thay are SO bright in the front corners. Now everyone knows I'm turning left in an intersection.
  17. If the alignment of the guibo is off the driveline will shudder at low rpms in first. You can tell by rotating the driveshaft. If the guibo distorts at the 6pm position you can try raising or lowering your center support bearing. Saging engine mounts can also cause the distortion. Lastly a member here ( @TobyB) enlightened me that the driveline should be assembled from the engine to the diff. Meaning that the diff should be adjusted last so that the guibo is not distorted when all is tightened up. Edit: the CSB can also be adjusted right and left. Poor adjustment could cause the guibo to distort at the 3pm and 9pm positions.
  18. I stand corrected. Sort of. W&N show the rubber somewhat coiled. Still some care is needed in shipping.
  19. Geez, that's a tough one. AFAIK, They are susceptible to distortion in shipping and storage. If you are buying new make sure that the packaging is full size. I believe it has a metal core. I would strongly recommend that you buy from your local.dealer so you can reject it if it's distorted. Been there. I hope BMW plans to.restock them. Buying used locally might be the best option.
  20. I saw your car on the British forum. Universally loved, indeed. Excellent!
  21. My Inka car gets the attention everyone is talking about with the bonus of young children pointing and trying to break free from their parents grasp to get one last look. My best "I had one of those" story is the time I was exiting a gas station and an older gentleman (even older than me) approached and said he had the exact same car when he was a Professor at university. He loved the car so much that he sat in it at lunch because it was his favorite place to be. So I drove him home. He had tears in his eyes. I'm with @TobyB. I have a love/hate relationship with my car. There are weeks when we don't speak. I shouldn't have to fix things twice. I don't think it's always my fault! Or is it? ...we always make up.
  22. Black hardware = 73 model year, likely late 72 mfg. Stitching per @Conserv 73 model year. Both front seats had sensors. Wiring connector for passenger seat is beside transmission tunnel.
