Age, 33

Got my first car as a hand me down from my older Sister in '93... Dad built it for her to take to college in '88... It's my only running '02 at the moment...

1. '67 1600-2 Granada red 1530962, 2liter motor etc.....

2. '68 VW Double Sliding Door Panel Van, the Fridge, sold to once good friend who destroyed it.

3. '66 1600-2 Bristol 1508028, currently awaiting body repair from a major front end accident in '03

4. '83 528e 5spd wife Rosee hit a deer and totaled it.

5. '67 1800A Polaris w/black/red future project.

6. '86 528e 5spd Schwartz was my daily now Rosee's daily currently has 368K on original motor, trans and diff.

7. '67 1600-2 parts car for the '66

8. '86 325A was Rosee's car now sold to her Dad

10. '76 2002 Chamonix titled as Rosee's, for sale

11. '90 Honda CRX HF my current daily 45+ MPG

'

Those who know me understand why my car ownership leans heavily towards the Blau Mit Weiss.... Some say I may have been conceived in my parent's Tii.

If BMW would bring the MINI D, 120d or 123d here to the US I wouldn't have the Honda... :)

Wow - I never thought this thread would get such great feedback!

I see lots of patterns here from all the gearheads. Funny how most folks have been VW and Honda owners.

To add insult to injury, how many have pics of their 1st car (not necessarily a BMW)? Here's my first one, the 66 I bought in 10th grade for $ 50.00. Lot's of memories.

Looks like I am not the only one who has owned a Fiat 600! I would like to have owned any one of the several hundered cars that have passed through Peter's hands.

I'd always hoped to move up from my 1965 Fiat 600D to an Alfa GT Junior and then a Ferrari...right after I got an Abarth 695-SS.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books.
