Well set up coilovers with properly adjusted dampers will ride better than the "standard" Billie/sport spring setup, and provide better performance too. I can't wait to get coilovers for our car. Coilovers & ITBs are both at the top of my list.

Newly cut. Stock springs cut 2 1/3 up front and 1 in back. Stock struts, Bilstein HD in the back. Stock rims and 185/70s.

I’m thinking a bit too much rake, and the back could drop a 1/2 coil. Opinions?

I dig the stance in the second pic. The first pic does make it look a little raked.
2 1/3 cut from front?? Wow! I’m rethinking how much to cut now. I’ve read 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 coil cut from front and 1 full coil from the rear.

@RichenFamous I think the first photo is playing some eye tricks with the angle of the photo and the curb and retaining wall of the house in the background. I've got a 1 1/4" drop when measuring ground to beltline back and front. TBH I wish I would've started with 1 1/2 up front and then gone from there... Probably would've netted out at maybe 2 max. Also, I didn't change anything else in the front suspension other than move the spacers to the top (it was CRAZY high up front before I did that) -- original struts, original pads.

I recently picked up these Amil (made in Belgium) 10 spoke 15X7 ET25 wheels from my local wheel shop where they painted them and machined the lips. New Yokohama Advan Fleva 195/50-15 were mounted on the wheels. These wheels replaced the 15X7 ET25 Centra type 11 wheels that were on my tii for several years.  For some reason, I just feel the need to change the shoes on my cars every few years.  I need to take some pics of these wheels on my tii. If anyone knows the name of these wheels, please let me know.

Gordon - I believe they're called Amil Classics.  The same or very similar were also produced under the Viking brand (Germany). Mims made a similar wheel as well.  Amil was an OEM wheel supplier to TVR, Renault, & Peugeot in the 70s-80s. They were also the producer of Gotti and MSW wheels.  I also believe Madza offered a 15x7 et35 version in the 90s.  Some variations were forged - weighing ~15-16lbs/set versus ~20lbs.  I almost grabbed a refreshed 16x7 et26 Viking set back in 2011...thus the info.

I want to say these were once sold on Jetta’s.  Esty once had a pair of these for sale I found back in the forum history.  She may know.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they were ever stock on a VW.  MIM like Tom said above does sound familiar, but my last h2o VW was more than 20 years ago...

HTH,

Tom-too

Here's what I've discovered about Amil since I now own two different sets of Amil wheels.
