A 3.64:1 diff ratio, the markings are supposed to be 1.28 or 1,280 turns per mile and 3200 rpm in 4th at 60 mph with OE size tires.  My original speedo reads 1.28 (european markings) 3.64 diff.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Installed a Solid-State Voltage Regulator

I used a Hella 5DR 004 243-041 that I used on my '78 BMW motorcycle.

My original Bosch VR (0 190 601 006) was only charging at 13.6 V on a good day.

What a difference!  Now charging steadily at 14.0 to 14.2V.

BTW ... your VR does not have to be grounded to the chassis. The alternator body does, with a good 10 or 12-gauge wire.

Does existing wiring / connector hook right up to these or are mods necessary?

Cruised down to 18th & Vine, the true heart of Kansas City, cradle of KC jazz 'n' blues, not to mention Big Joe Turner, who in my opinion is the true father of rock 'n' roll.

1823 Highland Ave. is the Mutual Musicians Foundation, formerly the Union Hall for Musicians Local 627, the "Colored Musicians Union." This is where Charlie Parker first jammed with Dizzy Gillespie, where touring musicians like Trane and Miles rehearsed with their bands during stays in KC. Today, the Foundation opens at 1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday mornings for jam sessions that continue to 5 a.m. Because, that's how we roll here. 🙂

The bottom of this car is too nice to drive around.  You're going to be under there shining it up after every drive.

It’s really nice looking.

Thanks I have had the car since 1988 and every year I pick a section of the car that is lacking and tackle it. The underpaint started as just rebuilding the rear suspension, but project creep and the next thing you know.

Addressed altenator wobble. Upper (fork) bushing was shot (again) so swapped spare alt in place.

Hood hinge thingie gave me some ache. Hits valve cover (S14) front top nut.  First time i have oe bar assembled. I think others don’t have this issue. Have to think how to make it work.

Installed some new Holley Retrobright lights, but I'm only getting one to power on.  Otherwise, I need to put some miles on the car.  Been a month since she's been started.

I’d be interested in pics showing beam pattern once you get both going

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
