  1. Haha... Ok, here's the latest completed small project...
  2. Yes, half joking, half serious. These gorgeous builds are equal parts inspiring, intimidating and frustrating (that I don't have that kind of skill or patience). This one is over the top and super cool. Once mine is on the road, all will be good.
  3. Thing of beauty... This is why I hate posting my crappy little project! haha
  4. The Eastwood Chassis Black paint is always so satisfying when it goes on…
  5. Started working on this armadillo looking thing today. A little pitting but nothing too deep. Put some rust converter on it and on the clutch master cylinder.
  6. Thanks @OldRoller, agreed even a little time with the car feels good, even though I pay for it later. ha
  7. I’ve been off this project with a shoulder injury, but also seeing the really great work on this string has me a bit down on my project. Finally spent some time, after about 4 months, on the 75. One inch at a time. Today the quarter panels get the first of many sanding and smoothing steps. Falling behind, but not giving up.
  8. Nice looking. Most of my cars are dark gray, but didn't want to go that way with the 02. Now you've got me thinking... ha
  9. Thank you that makes sense. Of course I don't drive it at all, since the car is in pieces. ha Hoping to drive it regularly, but not daily, some day.
  10. I know this is the wrong forum for this, but I'm not getting much traction on the general questions forum. I have been working on the car just about every day, so it kinda counts. Here's what I asked: I've now got the bottom of the car completed and in the middle of prepping the engine bay for paint. I cleaned up the original heat shield pieces, but am wondering if the adhesive backed heat shield material might be a better option, for coverage and modern technology. I guess I have a concern that if it's adhered to the car, it could trap moisture and promote rust. Putting it out to the group, because I'm sure many of you have been there and done that. I'm just happy to be putting this thing back together finally. Thank you

  13. I’ve used Eastwood products on the last few projects. Rust Converter, then gray Rust Encapsulater primer (grey so I can see that the black has full coverage), then Extreme Chassis Black (satin). I like the look and the paint is high in epoxy, so it sticks and stays. Looked really good on the full frame TR4.
  14. Todays session, first section of chassis black, seam sealed the next section, then welded up a remote battery tray. I was going to wash the oil rags, but set them on fire with the welder instead. Off to the store to buy a new fire extinguisher. 🔥
  15. Looks like this baby animal fell from its nest…
  16. The bottom of this car is too nice to drive around. You're going to be under there shining it up after every drive.
  17. SOLD - Nice driver set of E30 14" wheels and nearly new Toyo Extensa A/S 195/60R-14- All Four Locking Center Caps- 4X100 Bolt PatternTaken off my 75 BMW 2002 that's currently completely torn apart. I bought this car and drove it around pretty hard for only about 150 miles (if that), then started the work. The wheels look nice on this car and the tires grip well. A good combo that won't beat you up too much. Ready to install and run.
  18. A 76 in CA, you’re a hardy sole. When I had my first 02 back in the 80’s, I didn’t meet the cutoff in my 69. With zero smog parts on the car, I had to have a guy with a smog cert pad.
  19. Strut assemblies going back together after painting the parts. What I'm not showing are pics of the broken bolt and backwards steering arms. But all is good now and the assemblies are stacked up with all the other parts that are waiting for the car to catch up.
  20. Not a lot of time this weekend, but managed to get some parts painted.
  21. I broke down the front strut assemblies, so I can de-rust and paint all the components. Also had a nice distraction, got to help my buddy swap out the race engine and put in a newly built street engine in his sweet Porsche 356. Everything was so clean, it didn't even feel like work. haha
  22. I just finished the rear sub-frame and now in the middle of the front. Of course these will sit to the side while I attack the underside, the engine compartment and the body... You know, every damn thing. But these projects make me feel like I'm making progress.
  23. Painting the front sub-frame. Little at a time…
  24. Disassembled the front suspension and steering and pulled the subframe. Got it cleaned up and treated it with rust converter. I was going to buy the engine mount reinforcement piece from Ireland, but noticed that someone had already done the repair. This project is picking up some steam, maybe driving by end summer? Or did I just jinx myself... Oh yeah, also had some fun over the weekend, removing a seized rear subframe mount...
