Having recently swapped rims from E21 to stock, I decided to check front and rear toe-in.

Got out my trusty tool and rubber banded the sticks to the rims.

It said 1/16" toe front and rear.

I swapped the sticks side to side and got the same numbers.

I took some photos a few years ago and they show the width/toe-in with the E21 rims

(ET18 / 5 1/2" wide).

The numbers today on the stock (ET29) offset and width (5") are right around one inch narrower.

( 178 13/16" -- 78 7/8" )

That was fun.

Yep and if they are Mahle 13"  5.5's at et 13 they may go on, but at 6" and et18 they rub.

I run e30 basket weaves good fit on an 02 (amongst other 13's in my collection) , but I have a soft spot for these and prefer 13's more and more the older I get....

The problem with 13" is tire selection. Very limited here.

Installed Kooglewerks shift knob and e brake handle.  I think they'll go nice with the Sparco wheel I picked up a couple of weeks ago.

Now if I could just install the entire rest of the interior I'd be somewhere.  :)

Oh, and I rerouted the fuel tank vapor line out the hole in the trunk instead of having it pass through the cab (there definitely was a hole in the line.)  So nice not having the smell of gasoline venting into the cab.

Dave.

'76, totally stock. Completely.

I'm wanting to convert my dash lights to led. Before I break it open is it just a bulb replacment or much deeper than that?

The led bulbs will have a wire contact that runs down one side under and up the other side. Clip the wire so that it ends at the bottom of the bulb. If you don’t you will blow the fuse as soon as you turn on the lights.

I didn't find this to be an issue...

Installed new air cleaner mounting brackets sourced from IEngineering and replaced one of the three air cleaner rubber mounts.  I bought some new rubber mounts from Ebay for a Mercedes Benz. air cleaner mount  p/n 617 988 0111. The MB part has the same threads but the rubber is a little thicker than my old original mounts. in my case, it helped to make everything fit better.

Eventually, I was able to remove the old piece but it wasn't easy. The other two will go much faster.  The air cleaner is now more solidly fastened down. So I have that going for me.

If the humidity ever drops it will be time for a new respray of the aircleaner.
