Tii Rotors Nla?

TobyB

Recommended Posts

So, a friend's restoring a tii-

and the rotors are showing up as NLA everywhere- even the ones that are shown as in- stock

keep getting kicked back as 'whups, never mind, we don't have any.'

This could be a real problem if I wanted to run as an F Production car...

Any ideas?

My favorite proprietary parts place, Autohaus Arizona doesn't show 'em either....

Some hoarder probably bought 'em all up....

Has anyone contact Brembo's US/North American office to see what the deal is?

A set of tii Rotors with hubs came with the AlpinA struts I scored off of Ebay.  I want the hubs but don't need the rotors, the appear to have been new or near new when they were taken out of the car, though there is some rust on them where the brake pad(s) were touching.  Happy to sell them to someone for a nominal price if someone is interested.  Happy to snap a pic or two and send those along to help evaluate price if anyone is interested.

Centric shows this rotor for the tii.  Any idea if it will really fit?  They are available from Olympus Imported Parts here in northern VA.

I've got a pair that I bought new over 10 years ago and only put maybe 1000 miles on. Just removed them to put on bigger brakes. Car sat outside for years after the accident but they're not warped and not worn except for surface rust if anyone's interested. Looking very good that ill make it to midamerica02fest this weekend to save on shipping. PM if interest.

That won't help racers- Brembos OE stuff checks and cracks like crazy on the track.

Relaying- the Raybestos comes through with a 5- lug vented rotor that looks like an E30

(ironically, the E30 Raybestos came through 1 correct, one for a Lumina)

and the Centric, while shown, is never shipped.

Given how many of us upgrade to 320 parts, I suspect there's not much of a demand at all.

Send a stock rotor to www.Colemanracing.com and they can easily copy it.  Once they have it on file anyone can order them (we use them to copy brake rotors from vintage race cars all the time.  Lotus 23, Aston Martin DB3s, Elva Mk7/8, Porsche 910, Jaguar D type etc..)

I think the tii front rotors will be available again. They may be on what parts guys call "Intergalactic Backorder". Where BMW purposely ran the stock down and are taking orders until there's enough to make it worth doing a batch. Same thing just happened with E30 heater valves; they were NLA for months and we heard this morning that a batch will be available in May. Similar things happened with other common parts over the last few years.

Really? I sell Brembo rotors (although they are labelled "Brake Discs"=)), but for daily driven cars, of course. However I run Brembos, which warped a lot on track. I was thinking "stock brakes can't take it". Haven´t had a good look at them since then, was going to soon but a rear stub got in the way.

But, what does "check" mean? I'm swedish and I thought you native english speaking folks checked the oil, boxes on forms, and a few more things. But I don't understand what a rotor does when it checks?
