Your Favorite Color '02?

One side of me says inka orange, and i would never turn one down, but given the choice of any color, no strings attached, i am not sure i would want that attention. I really like my Rivera blue for nostalgic reasons, and for the fact that it is pleasing, uncommon, without being a "tuner civic magnet" like i am sure inka would be. It really fits my tasteful sleeper goal. "Hey look at that old car... Is is a volvo? Oh crap i could not see what it was... It passed us so fast"

Well, I like all of the factory colors. Kinda partial to Colorado over Inka. Mint and Golf look great on the right car, and really like the '60s colors. Baikal, Arktis Blau, Granarot and Tundra are timeless metallics that you could see on anything from '30s 327s to modern 3ers and anything in-between.

I just can't pick a single favorite...

did they actually paint everything body color from the factory? I mean interior under the carpet, engine bay...everything.

If yes, then my 02 WAS Polaris. If no, then it's Verona. Either way it's Verona now... though poorly done.

Yes, the entire body, including engine compartment, passenger compartment, and trunk were painted body color by the factory. BMW Archives can confirm the original color based on your car's VIN.

There are lots of threads on how to contact them: I'd search Forums on something like "BMW Archive VIN" for the email address of Christina Hartung and Andreas Harz.

I had a website bookmarked and now I can't find it.  It was simply an 02 in the center of the page with factory color swatches on the border.  You click on the swatch and the car becomes that color.  Anyone have that link?

Great site to confuse the obsessed.

I've grown to really like my Inka.  When I saw it the first time I wasn't sure I could be seen in an orange car, but that was 1990.  Tastes have changed.

My Nevada 69 was indeed painted everywhere Nevada but the factory slathered on some black paint on the leading edge of the dashboard.

Some black paint was also on the (2) hood supports

I believe cars that still have their original front ends will have a number stamped in the front near the LF headlight.  I have no clue what the numbers mean  - they do not match the VIN.

But like Bob says all of the colors are great, like M&Ms

M&M's or Skittle's - all have great colors which makes it tough to choose a favorite..
