Post your Green 2002's - Inspiration Needed for Color Change

Recommended Posts

I'm about in the part of my restoration that I must decide on a color, and I have been really leaning towards green.  I think I've seen all of the original 2002 paint code greens, I'm hoping to find some photos of cars painted other non-2002 paint codes, especially metallics.  I had some 90's-era Alpina Green Metallic mixed up and sprayed some spare parts.  It is definitely a top contender, but its always difficult visualizing a color on the entire car without seeing a photo.  Post what you got with the associated paint code / name please!

It's funny how many shades of mintgreen I've seen.  It's a color that can be wrong in a lot of good ways.

I googled 90's era alpinagreen with image search and then added 2002 and this car came up on reddit.

The color looks similar to the other search hits, but lighting and surroundings make a huge difference in color perception.  Especially over the innernets.

Here is the AlpinaGrun Metallic on an old motorcycle rocker cover I had lying around.  This is the older version found on the E30 and E34, not the current BMW models.  I like that its still a BMW paint code, but there are a couple Porsche greens that I'm really curious about as well, like Oak Green Metallic.

I considered a number of greens before painting my Nevada car back to its original color.  The E21's had some nice metallic greens that were in contention.

If you're not absolutely wedded to a metallic,  there's Evergreen--the latter is a soft green that looks particularly good on a Z3.

Another BMW color from the 90s is Boston Green, a very pretty metallic that would look great with a saddle or tobacco interior--or even grey.

Too much like Candy Apple Green, looks like something you would paint your Dune Buggy with.

Mint Grun forever!😉

So the prettiest green I think I've ever seen in my life was on a 3.0CS and the paint sticker called it 'Tundra.'

That said if we're talking 2002s then the right answer is always, and can only every be, Mintgrun!!! :D

Tundra was a 2002 color, but not a very common one...and Turf even more so
