Here is your pic which shows the spring on the warmup regulator.

You are looking for #6 in this picture (in the engine diagrams section). Part number 13541257052.  That's the one that you ended up making on your own.

Well, with quite a bit of research, looking at tons of pictures, many parts websites and lots of help from Larry ( @2002#3),  I have a solution.  Larry and I put together a pretty detailed tech article on the door hardware.  See it here:

I just used a couple of small screwdrivers the other day to remove mine.

Yeah, that's just the bearing cages moving as they should.

More info and final discovery... It's from an early VW Golf, Jetta, Audi Dasher.  Part #411877359.  They seem to be pretty available. I wonder if they'll work in a 2002?  The shorter forks should still work. Might be a source for those in need.

  8. bergie33's post in Door lock cylinder code was marked as the answer
It's the second one, the X1131 number. Realize though that the door handles are way easier to rekey than the ignition, which means 1) they might not be keyed to x1131 anymore and 2) you might want to rekey the door handles to your ignition key instead of rekeying the ignition.
  9. bergie33's post in Where does this hose go (from under intake) was marked as the answer
From my2002tii.com, see pic below. That's likely the hose from the warmup regulator to the under side of the intake plenum. I would think your car wouldn't run well with that hose plugged.

Jim, which springs are you running?  I keep going back and forth about whether to get 185-60-14 or 185-65-14.  I have Eibach springs going in, with Koni shocks/struts.
  11. bergie33's post in Door lock question was marked as the answer
Could be a couple of issues.
    1) the pot metal tumbler inside the door handle is cracked or broken and the pieces are binding inside.
    2) the 50 year old grease is still in there and is binding things inside.  Spraying triflow will help lube, but you really need to get the old grease out of there before putting something else on there to lube it up.

Either way, you need to pull the door handle off, remove the small flat blade screw on the back and pull the tumbler out.  Be careful not to lose the key pins and/or springs when you pull it out.  If the tumbler is still in one piece, then you are in business.  Spray everything thoroughly with brake cleaner, wipe it down inside and out until all old grease is gone.  Put it all back together with some new lube.  If the tumbler is cracked or broken, time to source a good used one.

If this isn't an OEM BMW part, you might have issues. I bought an MTC joint and the holes weren't drilled straight.  I sent it back and bought a BMW branded part.
