Question about Front subframe tow hooks

Did all 1600 and 2002 cars come with two tow hooks on the front subframe?
 

the subframe on my car was purchased separately and has two tow hooks while the one from my early1971 model 2002 subframe only has 1 tow hook.  

 

trying to determine if I lost one or it for my model only came with one.

My 68 1600 only came with one tow hook.

My 70 has two. One was bent and had to be corrected when redoing my subframe.

My January 67 has 1. Right side like the picture. Mine is slightly bent towards the left. Not sure if that’s normal though.

My early 68 1600-2 had one, right side.  IIRC it was bent toward the left ~ 20 degrees at the bottom but otherwise straight fore and aft.  Originally bent? no idea...

My '69 02 also has one on the right side only - no bend though. My 73 has one on each side.

Not sure when they went from 1 hook to 2 but they were all welded on straight, curbs and parking lot head stones are death on them.

They bend pretty easily, usually from being pulled onto a tow truck by a winch or someone trying to use them to jack the car up.

For the sake of reference only, my '67 NK 2000 only has one, on the p/s under the valence.

 

it looks straight and rust-free but I would never use it to tow the car lol

you're lucky - in 1965 they didn't even give you one ? Why wouldn't you use it as intended - certainly don't use anything else under there!

My May 1973 has two hooks but subframe could of came off a 74 iirc.

 

Thought I read here hooks were somewhat fragile and not to use them.

Wonder if true ?

I think the hooks were intended to be used to pull a car out of a ditch or snow bank not to tow the car down the road.

They look capable of that I think. Like putting the car on a flatbed and such.

Was quite awhile back I thought I read that here and was surprised by that.
