Not an 02 but it's the only BMW I own at the moment - my CSL in 91. Bought in late 80's and sold it in 93 for a pittance and bought it back in 2020 from the same gentleman for many multiples of the pittance. The 2nd pic is the day I got it back 27 years later. 3rd pic is recent on hwy 1.

My wife, where she was about 14 or 15 years old, circa 1988. Not the greatest quality pic.

My older brother and myself in front of his lost 2002. This picture was taken on a rare snow day in late 1987 or early 1988 in Baton Rouge Louisiana . The car was found in a body shop in New Orleans with front end damage. It was bought and repaired in French settlement Louisiana before being brought home to Baton Rouge. After my brothers death in 1992 the car was sold or possibly given to some of his childhood friends. If any of this information sounds familiar to anyone please reach out to me, I would like to buy the car back.

My dad just sent me this, Watkins Glen 1949 GP, BMW 328 MM driven by Tony Pompeo.  Crossing the S/F in front of the Schuyler County Courthouse.   Most, if not all, of the buildings on the left are gone or part of the State Park parking lot.  Would love to see one of those at the 75th anniversary next year!

My classmate Bruce just sent me this picture of his '74 2002, picture taken in 1990. 

 

Way back in December 1974 a bunch of us kids were brand-new college graduates, had a paycheck, and wanted a new car.  I was lucky enough to have just purchased my '74tii.  I took Bruce for a drive in mine, he was impressed ...... and 2 weeks later bought the one in this picture.  He sold it 4 years after the picture was taken and bought a 5-series.

     And yes, to this very day he regrets selling the 2002.

Interesting story, but I'm confused about the timeline.  He bought it in '74, sold it four years later ('78) but this picture was taken in 1990? I guess he located it somehow and/or new who owned it?

This photo taken in front of my house, is from July, 2011. BMW friend, Mike Bethel, stopped by in his daughter's 1972 Golf 2002 for a quick visit. I posed with the 02 as I had done in early 1973 beside my father's nearly identical Golf 02. Not 14 any more! Thankfully no goofy clip on tie this time around!

Finally found a project, '76. Very little rust, runner. swim platforms first to go, followed by 15" Panasports and tires. 

Spare tire tub was worst case, new one in the boot. New rear shocks and a ride! The project continues.
