Granada red 2002 (VIN 1669139) purchased in 1980 in my last year of high school in Atlanta.   Drove that car for 7 years through thick and thin (college and beyond)  with two paint jobs, cyl head job, new rear end and trans, new dash, gauges, etc.

@Fortlauderdalian  I lived in Auburn-Opelika (I went to Auburn U.).  My mother's family is all from right there.  My dad had Alabama license plates when we moved back from Germany in 1971 even though we moved to Colorado Springs.  My parents retired down there out in the country in 1986.

Spending some time in Oahu with my father-in-law (the one who first turned me on to BMW's when I was 18) and out came the foto album.  Here are a couple good ones:

1) my wife (in the middle) with her sisters (about 1986)

2) my father-in-law racing an 02 in Santa Maria, CA (about 1995).

Great picture.  Love those wheels and those surf racks (Bay Standard brand, I think) are classics. 🏝️

It's a badge engineered Glas after BMW bought them - horrible.

At least the little Glas Coupé looked good enough to re-badge as your own. This one says flat-sided Ford Falcon to my eyes… (I’d guessed some SA-locally produced vehicle.)
