My new carburetor synchronizing tool came in late yesterday afternoon, something I wish I would’ve bought three years ago when I install the Mikuni round-slides on the M10.

I’ve been using the Edelbrock “Uni-sync”, the only drawback is that you can only calibrate one carburetor at a time. Being able to adjust all four carbs at the same time is much quicker, an a lot easier on my back.   LOL

Well worth the investment......

Ha ha. Need to cross ref this set of pix to the raging discussion going on now about “intake manifold choices” and best carb setup/complexity

Maybe it's me and my OCD, but this took me the better part of a day to get it right. Admittedly I started late, had to glue the vinyl back on the wheel wells, make the board, glue the parcel shelf and the carpet pieces on the wheel humps take more than just some major massaging, but it came out great.

I didn't even glue the carpeting on the bottom piece. I've learned to glue what needs to be glued and don't glue what doesn't. You can always glue later if you want. I think the carpet color goes great with my Natural Tan interior.

Circle track guys have been successfully running the same Mikuni VM round-slide motorcycle carbs since the early 80's on a variety of 4-cylinder motor combinations. I'm not sure what year they started running the 44's, but the car I won the Madera Speedway "Track Championship" in 1999 had the 44mm carbs, (the car was built in 1994).

My brothers car was built in1994, it has the Mikuni 44mm VM round-slide motorcycle carbs.  I just took our knowledge from all the years of racing circle track and successfully brought over to my "2002".....

I simply checked my odo to calculate that I drove 3,012 miles in the 02 in 2018!  How many will I drive this year?

John '74 Polaris

22,259-miles year to date for 2018. 2019, I would say close to the same...........

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
