Modifying a stock air cleaner to fit my 38/38.

Or you could say I am resurrecting an air cleaner from near death.  48 hours in the rust remover!!!

the level is to show me the interior height w hood closed. You can see I used some florists foam and lowered the hood to get the height and then just put the level in the pressed in portion.

next step is to fabricate and weld in the new section of sheet metal on the air cleaner.

That’s some good company. I’d imagine a good paint job came of that.

Yes, I was very impressed with the shop's body prep and paint work. He was very easy to work with and allowed me to pop in 1-2 times a week to check on progress and ask questions. It took a lot  longer than originally estimated but, I didn't mind as I had other family cars to fix and my '02 parts to clean/repair/rebuild in the meantime. Its off to get new headliner installed and then the installation of all those removed parts begins. Will be ecstatic when its back on the road.

Got my fuel pressure regulator from IE mounted and plumbed.

The bracket that comes with the reg is sort of flimsy, but I managed to find an aluminum mount purpose built for the Filter King at a shop out of the UK.

Overall, it's a pretty cool piece of equipment.

Got tired of the sh#tstorm of sparks I get every third time I fiddle with stuff under the intake runners, and installed this fine bludgeony URO rubber cable boot to insulate the battery positive pole of the starter solenoid.  Finally, a URO product to love.B3B51044-C448-4EF3-B7F0-7D9ACA9FF1BB.thumb.jpeg.068eac9a1ee55090d61d11a8758dde05.jpeg

Also trying to finally get that last bit of vibration out of the drive train, and install the new (used) warmup regulator provided by Harry Malkasian.  Unfortunately, the best time to drive your 02 in SW FL is also the only time to be in the garage!

Any link or name for the aluminum mount?

Thanks,

Well...I was going to replace this visor thingy, but RockAuto sent me the wrong one.  In the meantime ... can someone tell me how the old one is extracted?  Removal of the screw and initial gentle tugging didn't work.

Which part are you trying to remove, exactly?

Here’s a skeleton shot.
