Unless you need help with settings other than the base fuel table, there is no need to do it on a dyno.  30 minutes driving with the Haltech will auto-tune it in most areas of operation (except for balls to the wall loads that a little longer).

I hear you, Haltech support spent about 90 min on the phone/remote tune setting up and updating the ECU to be drivable, it’s great up to 5200 rpm and then stops, I called them back and they said that’s all they’ll give me they didn’t want it to engage VTEC of go near redline without a real tune, really they’re concerned about me damaging the motor without a real tune

but up to 5200 it’s great, fueling on the AFR looks pot on and temps look good as well so hopefully timing is close

If your engine has a knock sensor find the knock frequency do a baseline engine noise data log.  Takes time to fully set up the table and your tuner needs $$.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

After a few days of figuring out what we have. We started working on our new to us 71 Malaga.

Car is in great shape, does have some rust that we will  repair.

Started replacing front wheel bearings and all the brakes.

Lots of little stuff, exhaust hangers, rubber fuel inlet and newer door cards for starters.

put seats back in with recaro sliders after welding up some cracks in the mounts. they slide really nice compared to oe.

…and made some asymmetrical adapters out of 3/8” aluminum to tuck seats up against center console. tried blunttech adapters, but oddly both the seat holes and the slider holes were tapered on the same side of adapter. even if not for that, their symmetrical design renders the steering wheel too far off-center so they ended up in scrap pile.74DC3D6D-27B8-41D6-BC53-A909EA14CF66.thumb.jpeg.2e474950389fd015be015fb74fee79ed.jpeg

-I worked on my sticking brake pedal -  a new return spring and lube seems to have done the trick. Will definitely monitor closely.

-Then my brake lights got stuck on - a bad switch was diagnosed and a new one is on order

- I replaced my old cracked turn front signals with better ones that I cleaned.  They are a ton brighter than the old hazy and cracked ones I replaced.

- Also continued on with my recaro installation - I have monza CSEs and decided I wanted to go away from the universal mounts to use the 320is (ardvaark) and stock rails.  There are a couple of tricks to mounting the CSEs but they are in and feel nice!

- I am also continuing on with my weber 38 issue on another thread (will not jump on fast idle cam)

- I also got lucky with a poor running condition on #4 traced back to the brake booster.  I must have bumped the vacuum hose loose while pulling out the brake light switch

Another big two days, yesterday I installed the dash and today friends Greg Resa and Peter Coomaraswarmy stopped over and installed front and rear glass for me…with the help of my friends we are getting it done.

Ok maybe this just doesn’t qualify as a big deal but hey I did it.

When mounting my belt line trim I had a clip fail. The threaded part was spinning in the flange.  So I got out my tig welder (stainless) and fixed it!

now I have some tight trim!!!  Yes that is a stainless nylock nut.  I’m ready for my next shakedown ride! image.thumb.jpg.381697813e0697fe28848d59c0b6e407.jpg

Markster     be careful how far those nuts and studs protrude beyond the body. I have found the trunk and hood end ones and some frt/rear corner ones will just touch the body. Have had to trim them down and touch up with some body color paint

Thanks, Rick
