What did you do to your 2002 today !

Recommended Posts

About a month ago I was cruising in the 02 and my brake pedal got very soft, and almost went to the floor. I took this as a sign it was time to upgrade. My car had single circuit 1600 calipers in the front, and as I found out yesterday, 230mm drums in the back.

Now I have new shoes/drums in the back, a dual circuit master cyl, and brand new calipers up front. Stops much better, already had to readjust the rears after a day as they were a little tight, and a handbrake bracket was sticking. Still chasing down a strange "2-stage" pedal feel (firmPOPsofter), which could be booster. BUT now at least I trust that if something happens to my brakes, I have a 2nd circuit.

I took some time today to pry open my Moto Meter Tii clock, cleaned up all the contacts, sourced a new bulb and gave it a good oiling.
It’s much easier to adjust and a little quieter for the ticking

Really happy it works and now lights up

thanks to the FAQ for the archived article on this procedure, I really wish we hadn’t lost all the photos but love the new improvements to the site

all buttoned up ticking happily away

and of course I took it for a demo drive

Be careful with the "good oiling." Use clock oil and only at specific locations.

Cheers.

Thanks for the input, it’s already back in so I’ll see how it goes

no idea where the specific locations are, I focused on staying away from the circuit board and used a very light weight oil

Took the 2002tii on a nice drive to Ojai to pick up the elusive NAPA EL-13 electronic flasher relay. As mentioned elsewhere on this board, it is one of the only flasher relays that work with aftermarket LED turn signal bulbs, and the local NAPA stores have closed. But it was a great excuse for a mini road trip, and a celebratory beer afterwards! I love driving this car.387C883A-AD77-4990-9C16-3CEC220833F4.thumb.JPG.5c9ecb556f3c4fea495883787af83df8.JPG

Got a free stereo from a neighbor, installed and realized I needed better speakers.  Installed those as well.  Also got my electric choke fast idle working much better.  Oh, and I found I had a e30 rear view with lights in my stash.  I tested in out and it even works.  I started to install it, but got pulled away.  I would like to fin amber bulbs for it, but I can't even find what the original bulbs would be.  Anyone know a spec?   -- Went for a drive with a radio - -that was a little weird, but enjoyable in a different sort of way.

Found it!  Was cleaning up garage and moving stuff around, forgot it was in there.  This is why I'm not in a rush to get it painted.

Looks to me like it's already been painted.

2022 autocross season!

Got in 12 runs at the test and tune day. Ran roughly 16th fastest time out of 56 drivers and consistently raw-timed my buddy in his S54-swapped e30. ?

So yeah, I feel like the King of the Ring today. lol

PICS!!
