  1. Hi there! So since I'll be one of the unlucky ones to roll in to the event in a NON BMW... was wondering about those of us who do not register for the event. Could I still go as a spectator and not pay the fees for the corral.? I think they would kick me out of the BMW Corral if I came in a NON BMW vehicle. Any insight on going without registering a BMW would be appreciated!
  2. So Sorry to see this Slavs! Sounds like your street needs speedbumps... or speed traps!
  3. LOL! Nice seats indeed! ;-) I think mine are better cause I didn't spend 1/2 a mil and mine are in an 02
  4. Sounds great! Just PM me more info! Always a fun time hanging out with you guys! I do plan on being there the whole weekend, I will be staying in Pacific Grove/Monterey. See you all then!
  5. Hey Steve! You can count me in to being at Legends! I'll come find you guys at the tent ground... Will it be the one with the disco lights and beer flowing?
  6. I am now on this forum as "02princessLisa"... Hi David, I hope you get a response for the car. I'll keep my eyes out open for it when I'm in Cupertino. Just to let you know.. Everytime I drive by it, I cry a little.... not just because it was my first 02, but the owner I sold it to just lets it sit there... rusting away... I was interested in buying it back, but never got a response after the many notes I left on the car for the past 10 years or so since I sold it to him. Oh well... I hope you find the guy and the car returns to your family!
  7. So sad to hear of this Ian! Hope Betsy is ok! I already put a word out to some friends in LA for you! .... Let us know what you hear! Any antitheft devices people recommend? I have a CLUB for Tesoro...
  8. Pumping gas for our 02s is a difficult task in CA! For us lucky Californians, we have such environmental hazard safety laws for our older cars and one of them is the horrible vapor recovery device on gas pumps that causes fuel to spill out. I tend to catch myself standing in odd and awkward positions when trying to pump the gas so as not to get the "burpage" of spills on the side of the 02. Prior to taking Tesoro to restoration mode, I had contacted HBChris as he was selling the gas "adapters" to make it easy for some of us 02 owners to pump gas without spillage. So for those of you who would like an alternative.... HBChris was selling this on the FAQ a while ago... (Don't know if he still is).... COOP, I remember taking a pic of your fuel filler when you attended C&C Novato last year with your M2... I was thinking of also having Tesoro's gas filler flap to be fabricated by my body shop guys in LA since the car is at body right now....
  9. Peter, you certainly have a way with words! Thank you again for your comments. It means a lot to me when someone can appreciate and see the love that is going into this build. Tesoro is a true treasure to me, and I am building him with that in mind. From one BMW 02 romantic to another....happy motoring Peter! More exciting pics to follow!
  10. Custom wheels for TESORO! BBS RM 15x7 Started from the bottom now we're here... Big shout out to Paul Ehrlich at Ehrlich Wheel Works! Check out his splendid work! .... http://ewheelworks.us/ This bad ass knows his BBS for BMWs! Thank you Paul!
  11. .......with these custom (designed by me), BBS RM rims! 15x7 et25 I had a vision of these particular BBS rims with a custom paint job of a mirror polish on the lips and a silver spray on the weaves. But IN the weaves to paint them black. They are truly stunning! Thank you to Paul Ehrlich at Ehrlich wheelworks to custom build this set for me! You are a true artist ! Thank you for seeing my vision and bringing it to life! I will also be accessorizing these rims with different colored bolts. I went with a black set of bolts and 24K gold bolts with gold rings around the BMW logo! It'll be nice to change up the look from time to time!
  12. Curt was a dear friend of mine too... A totally humble and selfless human being.... He was one of my mentors along with Michel Potheau and Leif Anderberg to guide me with 02 parts and engineering... They all will always be missed.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thursday, October 19th 1972 "Ben" by Michael Jackson Awww.... for Tesoro... "With a friend to call my own, I'll never be alone....."
  14. Ah... I missed that... hadn't had my morning tea yet... distracted by the nice paint job photos....
  15. Very nice ! Riviera is such a nice color! I bet that's got to make you feel sooo excited to be at this point and start seeing the car come together! Tesoro is close to paint too! The body guys have been working exclusively, tirelessly, and endlessly to get the body done right! Question: Do you know what kind of paint they used? Water based or Urethane? And how many stages of paint did they go before clear coat? And how many coats of clear? Tesoro will go through the first stage of paint, then they will check out for any more imperfections and then a second coat before clear coating... Congrats and looking forward to more pics of your ride being put together!
  16. Congrats Peter! Thanks for sharing your adventure and pics! Sounds like the 2002ti found a happy new home!
  17. Such a wonderful story!... some of us know this man and his collection of beautiful cars!
  18. <<< I don't mean to roll with the hijack on this thread, but...... >>> Hey All! I'm a girl.... and I probably know a lot more 02 stuff than some of the guys on this forum... I just wanted to say how much I do appreciate COOP taking a stand and pointing out the disrespect in some of these posts about women, that goes on this forum from time to time... I can laugh and joke about cars like any man can... but when we start going the route about tits and ass... and then people posting pics or gifs of bushy/unclassy/tasteless naked or implied nudity of women on the threads... (which I have seen in earlier threads) it really demeans the group of men on the forum moreso.... Let's keep it classy gentlemen! And to talk about the correct stance... that's just personal preference really.... If you are keeping an 02 to pure originality, there are specs out there to follow. There are some stances that I like to see...such as Ray Chau's S14 has a nice stance, and if you want to go really low, I admire this look: But Tesoro will have a daily driver stance.... firm but drives like butter.... Something to this effect...
  19. Looks great Stuart! There's certainly a lot of people who are getting their cars ready for show!

  21. Hey everyone! So Tesoro won't be able to make its debut this year at Brisbane. We are not at paint yet as the body guys are taking each section of the car sandblocking and getting ready for the last stages of priming before paint. I'm pretty bummed about Tesoro not being done yet, but since I have one shot at this restoration, might as well not rush perfection! Tesoro will make its debut at the Legends of Autobahn in August! I did register early for Brisbane, so if anyone needs a spot, let me know.... I'd be happy to give you Tesoro's spot. Can't wait to see/meet everyone and their lovely 02s there!
  22. Ryan! OMG! I hope you are ok! Saw this all over FB and the FAQ..... just know that you have a strong community of 02 friends and we're all thinking of you!
