  1. Has anyone tried 3d printing a console face? Perhaps its too big for most printers, and probably not detailed enough to warrant it, but having a modifiable CAD file would be pretty awesome.
  2. If you don't have a bearing supply shop near you and don't want to spend $24 on an OEM worm gear seal. Search for SKF 6757 or NOS (Napa Oil Seal) 6757
  3. Dang. I was hoping to check it out tonight and arrange a deal but its gone already.
  4. Do you have any with a large NEIN or ENTFERNT over it?
  5. A link for the lazy http://www.crackle.com/comedians-in-cars-getting-coffee/2497721
  6. I just buy a new Harbor Freight one every time I do electrical work. I wouldn't recommend this method.

  8. To replace my missing spare I just pulled into one of those cheap no name tire/used tire places and we tried a bunch out, in the trunk and on a wheel. It was relatively painless and cost very little. I have no idea what I ended up with.
  9. Mike, Do you know whose chip you have? I keep reading more and more about how chips are almost always BS, but the people on r3vlimited with m42s seem to all swear by them. Best, Peter
  10. Tempting. Could probably be gotten for a song. If I had a place to park it I would go pick it up this weekend.
  11. The easy fix is to ignore the oil level. Oil is one of the 3 main liquids people claim are necessary for cars but that no one can point to scientific studies that indicate that they are (the other two being coolant and gasoline). It does seem to be a problem that others have experienced with various baffles though https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=site%3Abmw2002faq.com%20ie%20oil%20baffle%20dip
  12. AC parts are probably worth at least $300 too.
  13. I just bought an $11 dash cam from amazon, this would interest me.
  14. The length needed should be the same regardless of the shift linkage you start with, right? So "center to center" I assume is center of the pins? 8.5 inches? Thanks.
  15. I am wondering if anyone has the measurement (pin to pin) for the shifter linkage necessary for an m42 swap into 2002 (Getrag 240 tranny). I've searched and found some posts on modifying the linkage but most seem to be starting with an e30 linkage, I only have the stock 2002 linkage (and none provide measurements). Clay's blog lists 12-15mm removed from an e21 linkage, so if anyone happens to know the length of that linkage before hand I could work off that. I have a few private messages out to people who may know, but I wanted to start this thread both to see if anyone else knows and so that it can be memorialized for future searchers. If no one has the answer we'll figure it out using good old-fashioned mock ups and measuring, but it would be nice to just cut and weld without the extra work. Thanks, Peter
  16. Year:: 1976 Make:: BMW Model:: 2002 Price:: 1900 Location: : Seattle Not mine/no affiliation. Looks like a solid base for a project or a car to buy for parts. Looks like it comes with Behr AC parts. I would jump on it at $900 cheaper. http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/5386323351.html
  17. I've never gotten a page that is no longer there from a search on the FAQ from the wayback machine, I think the URL format changed. If you have any specific tips, let us know.
  18. If you find a good and affordable place to recover recaros, please let me know. Otherwise, I am looking for such a person down in Portland.
  19. Bump. I know someone could use this stuff. I kept all of it in my trunk for road trips.
  20. Some info here and in the links contained therein: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/124983-recaro-seats/ They seem to be popular in the Porsche community
  21. NM/NA. But it is within a few miles of me so I can check it out for someone if interested. Looks pretty nice. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/5383672267.html
