1975 and 1976 Emission Control Diagram Stickers

After attempting to locate a 1975 Emission Control Diagram Sticker for my 1975 BMW 2002 MintGrun restoration, I realized that this sticker was not being reproduced.  So over the Holidays, I reproduced the four stickers for 1976 and 1975 (California, Not the 1976 49 State version) cars, both Manual and Automatic transmissions.  These vinyl stickers are very good reproductions and actually look better than the originals with proper spacing and block sizes for the color legend.

I am offering the over-runs on the printing minimums to members of the 2002FAQ for $15.00 each shipped (mailed) in the US.  Just send a Paypal payment to mstumm@hotmail.com with the quantity, year, transmission type and I will send your sticker(s) out to your Paypal address.  If there is interest in the 1976 49 State Version or the 1974 Stickers, I may look at reproducing those as well, just post a comment if you are interested in the other 2 stickers,

Thanks,

Mark,

First, it is absolutely great that you did this! It's a necessary component for any authentic '75 or CA-only '76 restoration! So thanks!

I'm, of course, in the 49-state '76 contingent. Not knowing that these other versions were so close, or that you might be considering a 49-state '76 version, I've just asked Kamil (noboco) if he could reproduce the 49-state '76 version. He's probably not done that yet, but I suppose my questions for you are: a.) How much work is it for you to produce the 49-state '76 version?; and b.) Will there be sufficient interest in such a sticker from other owners to justify its production? The responses to this thread may help answer that.

Best regards,

Steve

Steve:

My original plan was to produce them all starting with the 75/76 Cali version (for my car), then the 74 (based on the 75/76 versions), and finally the 76 49 State (B/W and less components).  I kind of ran out of steam after incurring the cost of printing the first 4, so I put the overrun on sale to see if there was any interest at all before spending more money reproducing the final 2.  I had some time to work on this over the Holiday, and less time now that I am back to work.  I am almost finished with the 74 Sticker, I'll work on it and move to the 49 State version after that.

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

I would definitely be interested in a 49 state manual transmission sticker for my 76.  Even though the hardware was removed from mine years ago I would still like to install the original sticker once I'm done painting my project car.  Very nice work!

The 74 Sticker is almost done and I will work on the 76, 49 State Version next.  When I am finished with both I'll send them out for printing to save on shipping.  I suspect I should have some ready for delivery around the end of January.

Thanks,

Everyone who gets their '02 re-painted seems to install new underhood stickers. But acquiring correct stickers seems to be less important than just getting stickers, hence every round taillight car seems to bear orange "Achtung" stickers even though these first appeared on square taillights. And now some never-before-reproduced '74-'76 stickers are offered but interest is tepid!

Don't wait!

Regards,

Steve

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books.
