I often peruse 2002FAQ on my laptop through the 55" Plasma in our living room. My wife just walked in, looked, and said "Ohhhhhhhh... You're watching porn again aren't you". Busted!

195/45R-15 Toyo Proxes T1R SLPretty Reasonably priced. I feel you, it took a little research for me to figure out what wheel/tire option looks decent

Thanks for the response. This is where im at with 15x7 +25 fronts with a 165/45 tire and 15x8 +25 with a 195/45 toyo tire. I cant seem to find something in between the front and rear sizes I have that will fill the front wheel arch but also slightly strech like the 195's on 8'' in the back. I will probably end up doing the 195 Toyo's in the front as well and get myself some camber plates. I am just on cut springs currently. Post up some side pics when you get a chance !

So they cut a coil out of my front springs. The car now sits where I want it but the concern now is the amount of space between the top of the spring and the upper perch which is about 2". This is what it looks like on the hoist. I gather there's a risk of the springs becoming unseated if the front suspension is unloaded while driving. Thoughts?

I haven't cut springs before but had a similar loose spring situation with lowering springs.

I drilled a small hole in each spring perch and safety wired the spring to the upper and lower perch.

Made me me feel better about it but can't say with certainty that this is significantly better than just carefully lowering the car and ensuring the spring is seated properly as the suspension is loaded.

It will not come unloaded while driving, even if you get airborn for a sec.  I see loose springs like this all the time, from audi's to some of the exotic Italians in the shop.  It won't be "TUV-legal" but functionally you will be fine.

That's interesting Ace... If you're unloading the front suspension to the point where the springs are falling out of the perches (which is a long way), what if the springs were secured to the lower perch as a safety measure? That's the end you don't want falling out of place.

I don't plan on driving like this (in my car anyway), although it does look like fun!

1974, pretty stock

Stock Springs, Bilstein HD shocks/struts

Tires are total junk off-brand, 165/80/13, and cracking badly

Alpina-style Wheels, 5.5x13 (I think)

Removed front spring spacers

Moving to 15x7 et24 Euro Basketweaves, (frightened of the cleaning involved) and 195/50/15 tires, both are already ordered. Also I've ordered Eibach springs which should help the stance. I'll post an update when it's done.
