Well. the hoses coming off of the brake/clutch fluid reservoir are not original.

So, there.  :D

How about the  Zip-Tie on the valve cover breather hose?

I see they were invented in 1958... so I suppose it could be.

I need to go remove/rotate my water temp sender connection 180 degrees!

What a cool thing to get to see.

Whooooaar... what an awesome reference piece!
What I wouldn't give to be let loose with this unmolested and factory-fresh 02 and a camera.
So many tiny, small details which would be great to document from a car like this.
Really hope the pictures which the dealer takes will go into real detail...

Had I appreciated the degree of interest I would have carefully taken more photos, but I was there for a different purpose, and understandably distracted...:D

No, I wasn't there for the nice Granada Red 2000TiLux.;)

All cars in the pictures are wonderful!  Looks like the booster was date stamped December 20 1971. The battery is mighty small (short).  Reminds me of the lowered battery tray for the 2002ti cars.

Any stickers in the door jamb?

Do you have any clear pics of the 2000tilux?

There’s a U.S.-spec square taillight (Chamonix, if I recall) floating around that, at its last appearance, had even fewer miles. I believe a dealer simply kept it, and stuck it in the back room, rather than selling it.

This might be the  '76 Chamonix that Peter Panos ( owner of Peter Pan BMW, San Mateo, CA) purchased as a showroom decoration on the same day I purchased my car. His blue license plate is(was) 625 PBU.....mine is 626 PBU.

Last I heard, he sold the car with about 500 miles on the clock!

Coupla things...

1.  Those hood ground straps were part of the installation package that came with Blaupunkt radios back in the day, but were rarely installed by US dealers.  I was a parts guy at a Renault/Peugeot dealership in 1972/73 and remember installing Blaupunkts in new Peugeot 504s--I'd try the radio after installation to see if it needed the strap; if it didn't, I didn't bother.

2.  My Feb 69 production '02 came with a grey air cleaner can--and from the pictures this can has slightly different-shaped pieces--the inlet horn and the lid are both different.  I know BMW used at least two suppliers for air cleaner cans, so it's possible that US cars got one brand and Euro cars another.  The only black air cleaner cans I've seen on US roundies are early 1600s.

3.  Both my '69 and '73 have small, factory installed zip ties holding wiring bundles together in several different spots.  They're very small and black, so they were used on '02s.  But I've not seen one on the breather hose; they were a press fit.

4.  Note that it still has its original donut upper radiator hose!

Still wondering about those pointy bumper guards, though--never seen 'em on a 72 of any species--US or Euro...

You mean like mine?  Must be a Euro thing...  An E9 guard would not fit there, would it?  The bumper is much bigger.?

I have a 30-year gap in '02 ownership, so my eye is not so tuned in to the differences.

This is a link to the few photos and videos I took or got from the dealer:

I'm no expert, but I would not have expected a one-piece dash.

Same bumper guards on this beautiful Atlantik 2002Tii, so I think it's a Euro thing.  This car has been repainted, but it had really low kms, below 50,000kms I believe:

And this Bristol '68 1600 (my first '02 ?)  is better than the one recently on BaT:

That is in fact a two-piece dashboard.  So correct for a '72.

The pointy front bumper guards were stock on European models from 04/71 and until end of production.

Sorry, I didn't think to focus on this one.  The dash and everything under the hood was original.  The upholstery has been replaced as it was too fragile.

It was very pretty!  It was not ready for a photo-shoot, but I'm sure it's coming.
