You own 2? That’s pretty sweet !

Thanks,

Actually i own 3, 71, 73 and my 74. The malaga is the last one i bought, im the 2nd owner....thing needed a good cleaning and buff and wax to bring it back to life. I also redid the brakes, brake and fuel lines, added front and rear sway bars, lowered coils, Flushed out the radiator,  tuned it up, changed all the oils and it runs and drives great. Here's my 74 and 71

Transported it cross country to home in WA.  1972TII.  Stored for 28 years.  Originally Polaris/Blue interior.  Early production.  I plan to slowly bring it back to life.

Starting filling all the holes and whatnot in the dash as part of its repair process.

Expanding foam is sticky business

What’s the rest of your plans for the dash?

Considering my options here since find a crack free RHD dash in Australia is as likely as finding rocking horse poop.

Once this is set, shape it down to match the contours and seal everything in with two part epoxy. Sand/scuff. And bring it to an interior shop to glue down a new leather cover I got.

Curious what type of foam you are using? I can see this being a option that will be used more often. good luck with it.

Loctite expanding foam. It’s a tighter foam than the standard great stuff. The guide I’m using online uses great stuff so I’m sure that’ll work too

I changed DS center carrier bearing. The little fixture I fab’d up really made this a breeze. Well that and the wrench my Dad made for this work some decades ago.

I Roughed up and POR’d all of the new metal on the underside and any areas that showed signs of rust. Pretty minimal really- pan to inner rocker seams and LR floor pan plug. Such a sound tub. ?

Busy getting all systems finalized. Steering, Electrical, Fuel, and Cooling.  Planning to drive it this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Awesome. Though knowing my luck, if I did that I would still end up having to take a file to one of those slots as it would still be a few millimeters out.
