Tii Fuel Lines - Interest

I am interested in a set, and willing to commit via payment. I am assuming we are doing this in the order of the original list - or now that it is the moment of truth - and whoever pays for real gets in line? Let me know

Ok, time to make a commitment.

I have discussed a few shipping options with Jerry (one of the domestic shipping volunteers), and determined the following price list:

One set $152

Two sets $146 each

Three or more: $140 each

Just line #1: $52 (US shipping makes this expensive), $43 if you also order a complete set.

This includes the lines (one set includes all 4 lines), shipping from Germany, customs, repacking and shipping to your door, and a very small margin for changes in the Euro exchange rate.

I am now accepting Paypal payments - PERSONAL please to avoid fees - to the following email account:

When you pay, please also include your address, or send me a separate email.

Please email me with any questions.

Good Morning,

I've checked the clearance between the lever and the line #4 if distance between pump an injector is increased to 405mm.

It could match, but clearance is only about 2mm....

... so I will make a further mold and increase the lenght of line 4 a bit !

This will solve a possible but only contingent problem. Fitted on Models with e.g. 402mm Distance will cause the lines 4+3 to come a bit lower as in the fotos - about 2-3mm.

Looks well also.

Thomas

Thomas,

Is there a shelf life for these lines? How long can I store it before I install. I am buying as future install, not an immediate need, so wondering.

Thanks Diesel for pointing this out. Great solution for someone who just wants to replace one of the #2-#4 lines. #1 is black, so that's not really an option. Fact is BMW cannot supply a matching set.

In addition, our manufacturer in Germany bought the #2-#4 lines from BMW, and found that the shape is not even close to the original that Rob Torres provided. See his post on 12/29/12.

So, in addition to what BMW still sells, we are now able to get a complete matching set that is as close as possible to what came on our tii's 40 years ago. Probably even better due to advances in materials, and Thomas' excellent craftsmanship. It will be a piece of art !

Can you guys PLEASE make sure to do a "personal" transfer? I have been charged with $22.90 in fees so far, and our budget does not allow for that. There are 2 tabs, when you pay, one is "Purchase", the other is "Personal".

Thanks

Received an answer from Thomas:

If the lines are stored tension free in a cool dark place, there is no reason they couldn't be stored for a long time. He has lines that have been sitting on a shelf for over 10 years, and they look brand new.

The yellowing cannot be completely avoided, and comes from contact with gas (ethanol and additives make it worse), and oil vapor and dirt in the engine compartment. So the only thing you can do is to avoid ethanol and keep the lines clean.

Thomas plans to offer individual lines and complete sets in his shop, but the preferred pricing will not be available after this.

Just bumping it up. There are quite a few people who were interested, but have not paid yet. We are at about 30 sets at the moment.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
