Payment sent for 2 sets (292.00) via PayPal Personal.

Address including with PayPal payment.

Address and contact information sent under separate email cover.

Thanks!

(I don't even need these, but figured I'd get two anyway)

Thanks guys. We are at 37 sets, including Rob's 13.

Still quite a few who were interested since we started this thread, but have not paid yet. It would be very time consuming for me to email all of those, to see whether they still want the lines.

In the mean time everybody figured out how to send money without the fees. Well, except one, and we are still trying to figure out why Paypal charged the fee.

Update:

When we started this over a year ago, I kept track of how many people would be interested in how many complete sets. There were about 45 people posting in this thread, wanting about 50 sets.

I am aware that not all who said "I am interested" will actually buy one. But only 17 of the 45 have paid so far. So, I took the time and emailed everyone else a reminder - except the ones who don't have an email listed.

The problem is that we already have 44 sets paid for, and I just received an email from someone wanting 10 complete sets. I would like to give the remaining sets to the "pre-orders". However, if I don't hear from them, or receive payment, I will have to pass them on to somebody else.

Thomas in Germany can fit 60 sets in one box, which is the most he can export with his current license (based on value). Including 3 sets of Alpina lines, and the 10 of the new order, there is room for only 3 more.

We can place a second order, but they will be $15 more and take a few months. Everything else should get here early March (I just talked to Thomas).

So, if there is someone out there, please let me know within the next few days. Otherwise it will be part of the second batch (if there is enough demand).

Thanks.

I owe you an update:

Thomas, our contact in Germany had delivery problems with the fittings, he only had enough for 50 sets. But we now have 61 and need to ship them all together to keep the price low.

He expects to get the fittings sometime this week, and will continue assembly shortly.

I will post updates as I receive the news.

Almost there !

Thanks.

Yes, good news indeed!

Here are some pictures of the lines right before completion, and while boxing them up:

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
