Regardless of the price, I cannot emphasize the importance of having a good ppi done by an experienced independent specialist (PRIOR to purchasing the car).  If the seller does not agree or insists on a ppi done at his recommended shop then I'd tread very carefully.

Ask him if there's papework for the engine rebuild.  Also some good underbody photos to substantiate the rustfree claim (it looks like it has fresh paint).

Pending a good pre purchase inspection, I'd say between $16k and $19k is fair. Looks really clean!

Just curious, have we seen this one for sale previously in some other venue ??  That opening view of the big green lawn and stone-faced house are really tingling my memory, it looks really familiar for some reason.

Once in a while my dad's '72 chime goes off.  More of a buzzer.  I believe it also detects if they key is in the ignition like current cars.

Same seller has a modified/restored 69 and it's already bid up to $23,600!!! Both cars look clean but prices are crazy high

This seller is a middle-eastern guy who runs an 02 shop on Sun Valley, Ca. His English isn't very good, nor is his grammar, but I've seen his work and I like it. He probably has about 40 2002s in his inventory (restored cars, restoration candidates, drivers, and parts cars). He is actually very nice and restores his own personal cars very well. I've seen a few of his cars and they are kept to a very high standard.

A few weeks ago, he bought a 74 2002 shell that I had picked up in a package deal, so I was able to meet him and talk for a while.

I don't know other's experiences with him, but mine was pleasant and from what I've gathered, he's a solid guy with a real passion for 02s.

I don't doubt that any of his cars currently for sale are worth it.

for entertainment only...a scammer has the red 69 listed on memphis craigslist for $7520.00...inasmuch as the current ebay bid is $23k, someone should buy the car from the scammer
