  1. Ed, You were correct on your diagnosis. advanced the timing just a little bit more and it the stumble has totally gone away. Thanks!!!
  2. Thanks Ed for the pointers. I am runing some basic ~ 2-3" stacks with Pod filters from IE....I forget the brand of the filters. I have been hearing a lot of really great things about the 123 ignition....I will probably go that route once I get some spending money.........I just got married and bought a house so at the moment I am broke
  3. very sad. do you know what happened? He didn't sound very old when I talked to him a year or so ago
  4. I knew this was going to be brought up. I honestly do not know where my ignition timing is set. I set it by ear. I advance it while idling until it runs rough then turn it back a hair............ Kind of ghetto I know
  5. Hi, I am having some issues tuning my car. My car stumbles when transitioning from the idle circuits to the main circuits. The car Idles fine and pulls very hard once I get past the stumble. I am also running a wide band O2 with an afr gauge. The car Idles a little rich 11-12afr and it sits between 12 and 13 during hard acceleration. When the car stumbles I can see on the afr gauge that it is leaning way out. also If I just get on my car really hard accelerating it does not stumble Below is what I am running: Engine and exhaust -9.5:1 IE pistons - E12 head with mild port and 296 cam - IE long tube headers with 2.25 exhaust - Mechanical advance dizzy with pertronix Intake dual mikuni PHH 40s - 35 mm large venturi - 170 mains - 200 Air - 62.5 pilot - 40 pump nozzle
  6. One of the wheels is different then the others. It does not have BBS MAHLE on the lip. This happened to me I bought a set of MAHLEs and 2 of the wheels had the logo on rim lip and two did not.
  7. Intake manifold leak maybe? To verify not enough fuel, put some gas is a squeeze bottle rev the car, when it starts to bog squirt some fuel down the barrel. You need to do a compression test and a leak down test. The valve train could be so worn that it can't draw enough flow to pull in a good fuel mixture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Awesome car....you should sell me the current seat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have been very pleased with IE's customer service and products.......just don't talk to Jeff. He may be very knowledgeable but he is no ppl person. Andrew and Jeremy are the guys to talk to. They have been extremely helpful to me. I will say that lead times and order updates could improve.
  10. I live in Menomonee Falls.... I would love to come look at this if you still have it
  11. 5mm is not much besides if you are measuring to from the wheel to the fender don't let that bother you. My car was like that too. All I did was give the fender a good yank. judging by how low your car is in your profile picture I guessing you will have to roll the front fenders anyway........if that has not already been done.....could be the reason one side is wider
  12. Cool car! About the louvre ....Depends who wants it...I would guess a minimum of 200 bucks. I think they look best on a square tail. Us young guys think they are cool. Ppl are starting to reproduce them for e30s and e21s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes but the mounting holes in my case were diff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. You are correct I could of just not clicked on this post........this is kind of how I felt
  17. I came across these pics on the web. I have not been able to find any more info on the topic. Can anyone here shed some light on this?
  18. We all know he is a dirt bag....can we stop talking about him? Kick him out of this forum write a sticky warning ppl of him and then be done. I'm tired of being reminded of him! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. In late fall i installed the IE front coil over set up. I have absolutely no complaints. If you can weld it is a fairly straight forward job. On the other hand a true bolt on kit would be nice. But I doubt it would be afordable. As stated multiple times above the whole axle thing makes it kind of difficult. this would be my Idea.............Maybe someone could come up with a way to incorporate the lower strut assembly and hub off a more modern car with modern bearings and while your at it upgrade the brakes.......again....this would probably cost a ton. if you are ok with welding you can do the full ie or gc kit in a day
  20. If your rockers are solid you can sit it on them just be sure to use a 2x4 to distribute the load. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. For the midwest the price is pretty good. Its hard to find decent non rusty cars here. If I wasn't buying a house and getting married this year I would buy it
