Turbo on Bring A Trailer

Yep. And I remember selling my Polaris one for $27,500. Seemed like a good idea at the time...

Way more, I think. So cool.  Remember when you could have one for $30K?

I passed up one for $7K because I managed to get my 02 for $700...

I'm guessing anyone that is bidding now is looking to have their name on the "I took a run at a 2002 Turbo on BAT" list.  The real bidding is going to start in about 5 1/2 days and will probably start getting serious at around $150k.  The last hour should be exciting.

Really nice car. I know it well. Haven't seen it in a few years though. Not very many miles since we saw it last at Casey Motorsports. I always wanted to hand brush paint the black behind the grilles like it should be...

If they go by definition then it means he has a NOS OEM turbo from the factory.

If he means new and throws OEM in there it is probably NORS and is a new replacement turbo or re manufactured by an aftermarket company that made turbos to OEM specs.

Edit: who made the turbos originally? Was it BMW or did BMW hire out one specific company to make it for them?

What do you think the seller means by " New OEM Turbo"? NOS or euphemism for something else?

I don't remember if Sean or Chris came up with it, but the turbo was indeed an NOS one, at that time.

More data here...

KKK Turbos

Now a part of BorgWarner Turbo Systems, Kuhnle, Kopp & Kausch (or 3K/ Triple K for short) was one of the industries leading manufacturers, producing advanced turbochargers for a full variety of applications.

Founded in Germany in 1899, the company was at the forefront of turbocharger design for much of the 20th century, and today’s BorgWarner products owe much to the experience and design of 3K products.

Thanks to their reliability and popularity with major vehicle manufacturers worldwide, 3K turbochargers can still be found on a range of engines, and at AET (appointed as sole UK distributor in 1976), we’re still able to provide a range of repairs, replacement turbochargers and spare parts.
