Banks + Amsoil = “Strategic Partnership” … worth noting, perhaps. -KB

But also, Amsoil is some of the best according to Project Farm's "psuedo-scientific" testing, and I recall reading such on BobIsTheOilGuy too. At very least it's amongst the top industry contenders It seems.

Are you say'in that makes the info untrue?

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

I don’t have the expertise to know whether the info is true.

But, between the simple awareness of financial motivations and my background in marketing, it seems prudent to be mindful that Amsoil and Banks are in an (advertising) partnership. -KB

They are Ken, but the purpose of the post was to shed some light on what goes into an oil and why.  Racing oils have certain properties and everyday oils have others.  But neither excel in all properties.

Any of Bank's videos on any of his products, show he always inserts the "Wow" factor.

OPINION(S) PLEASE about using Valvoline 10W-30 dinosaur oil and lots of ZDDP additive (to get the zinc in) during the spring/summer/fall months in SoCal.

I think you need to ask Valvoline if that oil is good for flat tappet cams first.  The attached link was on here a while back, it may answer that question about 10w-30 Valvoline.  Lots of words in his paper, so recommend do a search (unless you like to read, but with too much wording , the subject becomes confusing).

Started on my brake overhaul.
-new discs and rebuilding my calipers

-new stainless brake lines ft & rr

-new drums and shoes, plus new wheel cylinders

-new reservoir and hoses to master.
-repack hub bearings. They don’t look like they need replacing.
Will be cleaning and repainting as I go. Not to restoration level but for my own peace of mind. Will sand and paint backing plates, hubs, strut bodies:

Will also replace shocks with Bilstein, springs with H&R.

Replacing strut tops also.

scope creep:

Calipers don’t look rebuildable. This is the worse one.

Even if it were rebuildable I’m not comfortable doing so. Will be sourcing remans somewhere. I read on this forum the Carbone brand ones are to be avoided but what Napa and RockAuto sell are good.

My son is helping me.
(I helped him with his e30 lol).
