Weber Retroject Throttle Body - EFi made easy

No, if you read what I wrote above, there doesn't seem to be anything on their website about it.  I did NOT follow Nick's forum link- I'll bet the details are there.

Sounded like it was in development

You will have to do a lot of size engineering to get that to work.  People want to just grab something and run it (seat of the pants stuff).  I've made chips for stuff from 1987 to 1995 GM system, both TBI and port injection versions, NA and blown. The blown 1995 one couldn't pass Colo emissions before but did after I fixed the chip that someone else did a sales job on the owner.  Engine may start but will soon run out of internal self adjustment (BLM learning).

That's what I was figuring, there's no way the parameters from any of the TBI motor's will be close enough to work on the other engines. But would be an interesting endeavour none the less.

Yep, I read your posts Toby. Couldn't find it in either of the other links, just hoping that someone could point us to something. I'll bookmark this instead for now and check in on progress.

Btw, in your previous post what does TWM stand for? I'm new to all of this...

Guys. Just joined the forum and hopefully can answer any questions you have about Retroject.

Its live on the website now, and we will be shipping in 10-14 days.

The concept is that Retroject will directly replace the Weber DGAV/DGAS style carburettor, and in fact it uses the DGAS throttle shafts and gears to guarantee 100% compatibility.

It is the same height as a DGV, and the top has the same stud pattern as well, you can take off a Weber 2bbl and drop Retroject straight on in its place.

Retroject uses 2 x Weber Pico 480cc/m injectors installed within the body, TPS, ATS, IACV and 3 bar Weber fuel pressure regulator all built in, so hook up your electronics and a high pressure supply and you are good to go. The throttle plates are 38mm, and Retroject should be good for up to approx 190-200 bhp.

The website link is here                                               http://www.webcon.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=15299

and our new swirlpot/fuel pump solution is here          http://www.webcon.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=15149

Please feel free to ask any questions

  • 4 years later...

I'm curious to hear about some power figures from someone who's run this on an 02. Anyone out there? Was there a significant power increase over the 32/36 or 38/38?

This looks great!

Do you have any rec's on aftermarket ECUs that would work well with the system?

Currently running a 38/38 setup w/ e-choke, and this is intriguing...

Edit...just realized this post was 4 years old.

Call Redline (owns Weber) and ask them. They’ve been super friendly and helpful whenever I’ve called with tech questions.

As I have said before about this. (I haven't checked recently) is that it looks really cool, nice set up etc. But I still haven't seen any posts anywhere (especially here)  touting how awesome this is.

Really can't find any posts that say: Retroject installed and it works great!! Here is my how to, Buy this loom, sensors and ECU and it....

No reason Megasquirt couldn’t make this work. Just use the previous builds as an example, but instead of the E30 M10 intake manifold or ITBs, just use the one you have with this bolted to it.

Pretty real sure Fiat owns both weber and solex. Thats why I don't deal with redline IMHO if they don't know they tend to make up answers.

Yet after a quick (and dirty) search, I cannot find any record of a successful install... no jeep, toyota, opel , ford, etc installs anywhere..

Lots of the same advert with the same link to webcon....

Not exactly a smooth idle going on there... my normally aspirated somewhat tired 2L runs better than that.

Hopefully some tweaking can be done.

Not for me, too buggy still, too many unknowns, not enough(if any) practical applications documented. Hate that the injectors are situated upstream of the throttle butterflies. Better, probably easier options out there.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
