  1. Thanks, I'm looking for a 3.90.
  2. What is the ratio of the diff? thx MM
  3. Seat belts became US federal law in 1968. It would seem to be a good place for an over-the-shoulder retractor? Seems a bit early for this technology though. I'm totally guessing. M
  4. Any tips for how to get the mat material into the doors and how much is needed? I have seen it applied to the inside of the door skin and also to the inside of the door "frame" to which the door panel mounts. Any comments on pros and cons of mounting in either or both of these locations?
  5. Oh man, is that one piece dash ever tempting. Which years will it fit?
  6. Hi - Curious about the differential you mentioned you will be putting up for sale. Is it 3.90/3.91 by any chance?

    thx

    Mark

  7. Does the eBay supplier have any more of these chains or was this a one-off? If they have more, can u please provide a link? thx!
  8. Collection of random seat belt parts: 6 front seat retractor spools 5 front seat female "stalks" with push buttons 4 rear seat sets (male retractor spools & female receivers) Bunch of random mounting hardware and plastic caps from Autoflug and Repa They all need a good bit of cleaning. The rear seat retractors work great, the front seats don't work very well. The black plastic colors look a bit weird in some of the photos, but that is an artifact of me downsizing the images. They actually look pretty good, except for the normal wear and tear. Shipping extra. The whole set weighs about 26 pounds.
  9. @Sahara Don't leave us hanging! Was there a positive outcome to your saga?
  10. What year did they make the change? What features fail? thx!
  11. I guess for the definitive answer one should go to the source: https://www.bmw.com/en/automotive-life/bimmer-beamer-nickname-origin.html
  12. I've had similar issues after swapping plug wires and getting the firing sequence out of order.
  13. One scammer told me - "I should be offended by your lack of trust, but because I am a good Christian I will forgive you if you still send the money." I guess since i didn't send the money he never forgave me.
  14. I should have been more clear. The dashes have been sitting there so long that I probably will never get around to repairing them myself. I'm all ears to hear / see more about your reproductions.
  15. I am all ears now that I have an attic with three randomly cracked dashes I was going to get around to figuring out how to repair "some day".
  16. Four brand new, never used, 32mm venturi chokes for Weber DCOE 45. I bought these accidentally. I have DCOE 40s. I paid $11ea. You save $1ea!!!! Will ship any way you want @ your cost.
  17. So - wait. It's some kind of wireless gizmo w/a coil that fits on the spark plug and fires via a radio signal - Impossible?!? Where is the induction coming from?!? I double checked, and it's not April 1st yet.
  18. Looks like the Weber "K206" conversion kit is still a "thing": https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-2002-Dual-40-DCOE-Weber-Carburetor-Kit-Redline-Kit-K206/271417433652?hash=item3f31bd5e34:g:0RUAAOSwCtJaH2j5 M
  19. Out of curiosity, where did you get what you list as "2002 spec" in your table? I noticed that what I found in the Haynes manual and what you listed are slightly different.
  20. Yes, installed it w/ inertial cutoff, extra fuse block / relay directly from battery, ran new fuel line so as not to pressurize the in-cabin plastic line, etc. When it's all installed it's pretty invisible. I know the mechanical are extremely reliable, but I did somehow like the idea that if the electric pump failed I could find one at any auto parts store in the middle of nowhere. Of course, that's me dreaming about all the cross country road trips I'm going to take while in reality most of my trips thus far have been jaunts to ice cream, the hardware store or my daughter's soccer games. ?
  21. Thanks for the specs. Here is what I have found thus far. I can't remember why I marked the yellow items yellow - I think I was undecided, but ordered them anyway. As you can see I biased myself towards Toby's real world experience! We'll just have to see how they work using AFR logging. I ended up converting to electric fuel pump. I liked the clean look and in cases where the car sits for a week or more without starting, I never worry about having to crank too long. 22. I'm not far behind you. I just finished installing my IE Street/Track header and SS exhaust with the AFR sensor bung today. Boy I wish they had a diagram to show which way the different kinks in the collector and the muffler pipes were supposed to go. I had to fit and refit several times until it cleared everything. Next I'll install the AFR sensor and see how my seat of the pants tuning with the Weber 32/36 went. Then, I'm fitting dual DCOE 40's with the IE intake. What are you running for cam and compression? Where will you start for jetting & venturis? M
  23. Related question. Can you pull the cam with the engine/head still in the car? I can't quite eyeball if it will slide out with the grilles removed? M
