  1. Mate try Clark rubber, they supply to car industry and panel beaters. They have just about any door seal, window felt gaskets weatherstrip and more. Just go to their auto section. You'll be able to find something close to oem.
  2. Well I'm still waiting for the picture you promised me! [emoji1]
  3. I had a Honda Integra Type R when I was studying at uni. The car was new and straight from the dealer and it would rev to 9000 rpm without any upgrades as a stock engine. At the time it had 11:1 compression ratio and put out 220hp. It had a 5s close ratio gearbox. A lot of owners in Honda club have only done minor and relatively inexpensive upgrades to achieve 10k or even 11k rpm from the same engine. I don't think this car made it to America though or they might have changed the compression ratio if it did. But we had the JDM spec with bilstein coilovers, large brembo brakes and recaro bucket seats. I think m10 engine is best for bmw enthusiast. It supplements a beautiful car that is credit to German engineering. But it's too expensive to aim for anything over 400hp when considering the m10. The Honda engine and tranny is the ultimate choice when considering ROI compared to M10. Having said so, I think the op started this project on the right track but now heading to universal studios for mad max 5 audition. [emoji1]
  4. Is there a way to dismantle the headlights without damaging it? Tried to open the aluminium ring around the edge of the glass by turning it counter clockwise but it seems impossible. I like to clean the inside and have the housing re-plated. Cheers
  5. Just as an interest, what would be a trade value (or forum sale value) of a compatible dogleg close ratio in US?
  6. Thanks. It says the intermediate housing measures 78mm (3.08"). I'm never going to race my car so this was a "want base" purchase rather than "need base". Price is cheap compared to others I've seen so I thought I'd grab it but since there are a lot of hassles in fitting and adjustment, I'll just stick with the rebuilt e21 5 speed. Thanks again everyone for the input.
  7. This one came up for sale from local shop. It came off 1974 Jensen and has mechanical speedo. I have a good reconditioned e21 five speed installed in my 73tii which hasn't been used yet since the car is still being assembled. Is this gearbox compatible to my car?
  8. You can buy them here for $95 http://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/184482-tii-dashboard-clocks/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/184482-tii-dashboard-clocks/
  9. I'm confused, is this sale for a Tii watch? If yes, then I'm interested!
  10. It activates the flux capacitor. Also known as fog lights.
  11. You probably didn't notice this ad was listed 5 years ago. Try posting your request under "parts wanted" section. Good luck.
  12. I was very tempted to do that but I found nickel silver spades (credit to mike for recommending) used for cooking oven elements so I'm gonna repair the current resistor. The E30 resistor is also BEHR and easy to retrofit (for me) and its under $20.
  13. Use a multimeter and test each resistor by choosing ohm (Ω) option. Should read: Low ≃ 2.5 Ohms Med ≃ 1 Ohm High = No resistance (direct connection) Cheers
  14. Mo are these three round ones applied from outside? Assuming they're uv & weatherproof.
  15. I've cleaned the resistor and even though it had a lot of surface rust, its now cleaned. The springs are very solid but they get extremely hot (almost red) on bench test. I realise that would scale down once the fan is blowing air but my main issue is that the negative (-) brass tip has broken off. I replaced it with another new brass spade which is not as solid as the original and I'm worried that the heat would eventually make it wobbly or destroyed. Not sure if this kind of repair considered a proper job! Should I keep this or look into other alternatives? I found too many out there including the Dorman 973-430 but this model is too close to the plastic cover once the heater box is sealed. It also doesn't have a cutoff relay as the stock bmw resistor (power will bypass the spring to no resistance if it gets too hot). I found Duralast which has similar option. I don't have any technical info an either of these resistors but it seems that majority were made to handle up to 30W. Should I try to fix the current resistor by installing more solid brass spade or buy a new alternative. (not the original BMW, my money printing machine temporarily is out of ink). Any feedback is appreciated.
  16. Agreed, although I'd say white would've looked nicer on her standing next to 'that' car! [emoji1]
  17. This showed up on classic bmw's Facebook page today. Know the exact year model?
  18. I can make numerous designs without removing the metal plate but, the lighting will be stock lighting which is crap. I have polymer membrane paper made for speedo's that emits light beautifully but BMW had to fix the needle permanently! I was able to remove the water & fuel gauge plates easily. I was planning to use a small rotary cutting dremel and just cut the metal plate off then install the new face and retrofit new lighting. This will be a one off job not many people are able to pull off so I have to give this a lot of thoughts and look into other options so others could also benefit.
  19. Never mind. Didn't remove the needle plate. But I could've done so much with metal plate off. Here is a test print of the stock design on Tyvek paper installed using original screws. Off to work on new designs and prototype work.
  20. Anyone knows how to remove the metal face plate? Seems like the needle base is not coming off. I've removed the needle but the shaft plate is stuck. Need to know if it's glued or screwed in. Designing new cluster face with lighting.
